"I... I hope so. We're gonna need it." Avalon whispered back to Berserk. "Maybe if we just keep this Xy'pher entertained, we can stall for enough time for Bernkastel's miracle to take effect."
The ninja glanced at Bernkastel and stood in front of both Bern and Berserk, ready to defend them if he had to.
"Get a load of this one! Askin' a billion questions as if I'm dumb enough to answer 'em all. What's yer name again? Brachi or Bara? Eh, same person." The Berserker nudged one of the nearby Xy'phers before pointing and laughing at Brachi. "What else you wanna know sweetie? The hive location? Our numbers? Credit card details?" He rolled his eyes and shrugged. "But I'm a nice Xy'pher so I'll answer a few of them. Not like you guys can escape or fight back..."
The lightning above them flared wildly and stretched across the sky. Thunder boomed all over the city and the rain would only get stronger as the winds began to pick up. The Elite-Berserk was like a lightning rod for all the electricity surging throughout the area. A bolt of lightning struck the Xy'pher but did no damage to him. In fact, it surged to his electricity 'veins' that flowed within his transparent crystallized body. The Xy'pher took a deep breath and stretched, almost as if the lightning strike relaxed and rejuvenated his body.
"If it wasn't obvious already, the King wants you guys in his army," The Elite-Berserker began. "He said to hunt down every Breaker and bring them in, dead or alive. There's a bigger reward if we bring you in alive tho'. I know there's more of you guys out there, so me and my sister were sent out to track you. My sister managed to spot two of you Breakers in another city but I couldn't catch their names... Don't know what they were doin' over there buuuuut it must'a been easy pickin's for my sis. After all, she's tasked with taking over that one city while I had to take over Metropolis! It was easy, to say the least." He chuckled. "These tunnels were such a great help y'know! Rounded up the citizens for the slaughter! Before I knew it, this whole city was mine!"
The Elite Xy'pher tapped his chin, trying to remember the questions asked.
"Our motive, huh? We just follow orders, errm, Bage, was it? Tho', the King has mentioned that he wants to be the one and only ruler of this world. He'll spread his empire to every corner of this realm until it all belongs to him. It's the start of a utopia!"
"Utopia?!" Avalon snapped. "He's killing people to create an army!"
"I never said it was a utopia for you. Anywho, I'm getting bored, so either you come with me peacefully or I take you by force. What's it gonna be Breakers?"
As Bernkastel used the last of her energy to muster one final miracle, Zenta watched the Witch fall from exhaustion. He was entirely in shock at the last-ditch effort Bernkastel pulled and hoped that her miracle will pull through. Just the sight of the Witch passing out was enough to make his blood boil. His usual calm demeanor was lost in the shadow of an exhausted beast. He knew he could not fight this Elite in his current condition and there was little he could do to help the Breakers at this point. All he could do was take a deep breath and remember the final words of Cuki.
"Cruelty is reserved for those with no remorse, My Lady..."
Zenta took several steps forward and held out a palm towards the Elite while he rested the other by his hip. He was preparing to fight. The Berserker took notice of Zenta's stance and chuckled to himself, pointing and laughing at the beast and his state. The other Xy'phers around him also giggled and laughed.
"Oh? You're gonna fight me? You can barely stand fuzzball! Errm, what's your name... Zenta, yeah?" The Elite snarked before showing pity to the group. "Oh, okay... show me what you got..."
Almost on command, Zenta rushed forward and slammed his palm against the chest of the Berserker, flinging him back. The Xy'pher Elite was caught off guard, almost surprised that the beast still had some kick left in him. Without giving the crystal being a break, Zenta continued to push, trying his best to protect the remaining Breakers. However, it wouldn't take long for the mass of Xy'phers to overwhelm him. As Zenta tried his best to remove the Xy'phers from his body, he was approached by the Elite Xy'pher. The two were slamming palms and fists against each other until Zenta's speed began to slow down. The exhaustion finally putting the beast down. The Elite-Berserker kicked Zenta back a few feet and as the beast was moving back to a standing position, he saw the Xy'pher's arm pointing at him.
"Nice effort, Zenta, but not good enough."
A bolt of lightning struck the Xy'pher and coursed through his body before firing out of the hand that pointing at Zenta. Unable to dodge on time, the beast took the massive shock to his body, his wet fur making things much worse for him. Unlike a normal lightning strike, which lasts a brief moment, this attack shocked Zenta for several seconds until the Xy'pher pulled his arm back. Zenta's body was sizzling, his fur burnt off in some places and completely frizzed out in others. He remained standing before taking a few steps back. The Xy'phers all looked at Zenta until he finally collapsed backward without saying a word. It was hard to tell if he was unconscious, but thanks to his labored breathing, he was, at least, still alive. He was stunned since his body remained stiff as a board. With no energy left in his body, Zenta could not undo the process. The smaller Xy'phers surrounding the group would inch closer and closer, cutting off any possible exits for them.
"Whelp, that's one of the strongest Breakers down," The Elite-Berserker smiled. "Anyone else wanna try? I'll play!"
