The Detective Agency

Broly let out a dark cackle when Detective Goku stood up and blew all the Xy’phers away. Although he was unable to speak, at least not in a language that Goku could understand, his gestures itself indicate that he was taunting both Detectives to battle.

Detective Goku furrowed his eyebrows towards Broly Xy’pher as he clenched his fists. “You really don’t make it easy, huh?” His eyes shifted his focus on Broly, onto Gogeta, narrowing upon the fusion waking up. In his eyes, he saw the fusion formed a devilish smile as he placed two fingers on his forehead before flying away. “Damn…!” Goku let out an annoyed grunt. White aura flourished around him as he dashed forward to keep up with Gogeta in record speed. Just mere inches behind the fusion, Detective Goku attempt to grabbed him by the leg. “You ain’t going nowhere—”

Before the Detective could grabbed on, he fell his body being tug suddenly, seeing the fusion fly off to the distance. Goku turned around, only to see Broly laughing manically, whom not only was able to keep up with him but had enough strength to stop him. Without any time to process, Broly rushed towards the ground with Goku in tow. The Detective attempt to throw multiple punches at him, but he was unfazed. In mere seconds, debris flung upward as Broly slammed the Detective against the ground.

Letting out a painful grunt, Broly jumped on top and unleashed multiple barrages of punches against the Detective before blasting him with an energy ball at his chest, resulting an explosion.

Detective Spawn pushed all the Xy’phers away from him with bruises and scratches around his body. “S-shit…” He turned around and see that Gogeta had escaped and Broly was giving Goku a hard time. “Of all the damn days…” He pulled up his gun and started blasting the Xy’phers with near infinite rounds to pushed them back.

Broly Xy’pher, waiting for Goku to emerge from the explosion, laugh manically once more. Detective Goku’s jacket was seen out from the smoke and landed on the ground far away. The smoke clears enough for Goku to be seen. “Guess it won’t be that easy…” He had a black Gi underneath his detective jacket, red shirt underneath, with a white belt and white boots. “Spawn, you’re doing alright?”

Spawn jumped back with his green blade out as his back was against Detective Goku’s back. “Yeah. If I was in perfect condition, they won’t be a problem. You?”

“Gogeta escaped, and Broly is a lot stronger now. I think we got the Breakers’ curse of misfortunate.” Detective Goku deadpanned.

As the Xy’phers surrounded both Detectives, Broly crossed his arms as his energy started to rise even more. In rapid succession, his power grew dramatically; reaching a Super Saiyan 3-like state.

Goku narrowed his eyes with a smirk. “Yet… I’m getting excited.”

"Heh, you're one crazy bastard." Spawn responded.

"Nothing too specific, but they couldn't sense what was surrounding them," Bernkastel said referring to her familiars. "At least in the few moments they could adjust to the darkness down there, they knew a lot of 'something' was watching. The only thing that talked was about to attack them with something bright that blinded them. We can't rule out the possibility of Xy'phers hiding down there. They should have sensed any life down there but they didn't."

Berserk grimaced, looking creeped out by the increasing prospect of going into those tunnels. "Sounds like they hang out in dark places. Ew..."

"It can't be helped... serves us right for not being aware of tunnels existing here to begin with." Bern rubbed her eyes before attempting to get out of the chair, wobbling slightly as she shuffled for her shared bedroom. "I may as well try and sleep before that damn detective shows up to order us around again." The irritation on her face not being withheld was enough to indicate Goku instantly soured her mood.

Berserk yawned and stretched her arms. "I can't wait to get that guy off your back. Feels like we can't do anything right with him watching..." She noticed that the mood would seem to dampen every time the guy was brought up. "Well, with the weather now, all we'd accomplish is a nasty head cold if we tried to head out." She started to poke Spina repeatedly. "What do we do about the old man? Looks like he's not totally fixed."

"A valley full huh? Well then we may have to go back out there at some point, since that might be the King's hot spot supply. And those tunnels will have to be looked at as well. How would you guys feel about-..." Bage seemed to already be formulating a plan for the Breakers despite his exhaustion from the previous battle, but then he noticed the others settling in tending to each other's wounds and properly resting from the day's fiasco that instead he decided to hold off on thinking of his supposed plan. He then came to Spina when Berserk mentioned his healing. "Maybe instead of poking him, we should get him to rest in a proper bed."

Bage carefully lifted the leader of the Breakers, his face cringing from his own body pain before turning to follow Bernkastel. "Bernkastel could you show me to Spina's room? I'm not too familiar with this place."

“The Valley and the Tunnels… two places of interests that might be worth checking it out.” Lucifer rubbed his chin after hearing Cross and Bernkastel’s thoughts. “Seems that even the Detective is on board… but judging from the looks of things, I, too, am tired. Though, it never hurts to have a midnight meal once everyone is rested enough.” He turns to Cross, who preparing food. “Since you are already making food, I do request the one called “hot cocoa”. Naoki introduced the drink to me back in our world, and it was quite delicious. Dark chocolate with the hint of marshmallows. The bitterness with the combination of lightly sweet makes such a delicious aroma.” He looked out the window, seeing that it was raining. “Hmm, where is Lilith? She’s awfully taking a long time to get over here. Wonder if she has an umbrella.”

When Berserk was poking the old Saiyan, Spina let out several small grunts. “Quit poking… I ain’t dead…” He was coming around before being lifted by Bage. “H-hey… I am not a damn kid! Let me down! I can walk on my own...!" Spina pressed his hands on Bage's chest, but the weak punches were ineffective since he was too tired to do lasting damages on the Detective's pecks. Despite him protesting at the action, he was not in any condition to argue or make demands. “Don’t look down on me, brat....." Spina slurred his words since he was going in and out.  "I’m ain’t the type to die like that. Give me some rest.... and I’ll be back up in no time.” He said, but it was slightly less harsh than usual. “Well, I guess you two did some good out there since I think you were behind her defeat. So, guess you ain’t a drag after all…” He turns to everyone and tried to muster out some words. “Uh, yeah, so, the injury… uh… Thanks.”

“Oh? Did I hear someone praising someone else? Mind say it louder for the people in the back? My ears couldn’t quite catch that.” Lucifer grinned.

“Shut the hell up....” Spina said. “My room is at the end of the hallway… Detective.”

As the night grew upon the Breakers, the air around the apartment complex began to thicken and a sensation of dread filled the atmosphere. The rains battered the area and the dark arid tension made things oddly quiet, despite the thunder roaring outside.

"I think Bernkastel's magic is working on him. He woke up, so that's a good sign, right?" Avalon said peering at Spina from behind Berserk. "I think he looks better now than how he did a couple of hours ago. Some of his cracks are disappearing. I think..."

"It is best that we let Spina rest for the time being. His energy is returning to normal from what I can see." Zenta said as he walked towards Cuki's room. The hairs on his tails bristled and he immediately froze in place. His ears shot up as his head darted around, almost as if he was seeing or hearing something. Suddenly, his calm face turned into one of panic.

"Hey, you okay Zenta? You're acting pretty weird..."

All around the apartment, in every room, scratching noises would be heard. Muffled chitter-chatter and unintelligible gibberish echoed through the apartment. The thunder outside blocked out the sound of running footsteps while the lightning and rain blinded anything on the outside. The sound of metal being scratched by something sharp echoed through the apartment. While no one lived in the apartment, aside from the Breakers, it sounded like there were people running out the hallways despite no one being there.

"W-What is that noise?" Avalon said, perking his ears before glancing at Zenta. "Z-Zenta..?"

The noise got louder and closer until it abruptly stopped. Suddenly, and without warning, diamond-like arms and legs shot out from the floor and the walls. The Xy'phers were literally within the walls and the floor and ripping the apartment from the inside as they poured inside. Each room would experience a mountain of Xy'phers storm in like a wave of ants. Xy'phers fell into the apartment in mass and quickly began to flood the rooms, ripping the very foundation of the apartment apart. More busted through the windows and up from the floors as more and more invaded the apartment. The roof was ripped apart, piece by piece as the Xy'phers forced their way inside. Lightning struck near the apartment and an explosion of thunder deafen the area. The Xy'phers busted through the balcony door and if someone were to look outside, the entire apartment was surrounded by what looked to be a sea of Xy'phers.

The Xy'phers quickly rushed to Berserk, Avalon, Spina, Lucifer, and Zenta while the ones invading the rooms tried to pile on Bernkastel and Brachi. With the little strength he could muster, Zenta managed to stop the Xy'pher group heading to Spina, tossing them out the balcony into the pile that continued to pour in. It was an endless invasion. The apartment was surrounded by an army.

There was nowhere to hide in Metropolis anymore.

While Brachi was initially caught off-guard by the noises, she tried to brace herself when she saw the Xy'phers coming, with Majin Bara instantly moving at her side to aid her bestie, using a Mouth Energy Wave to blast any others out of where they came from.

On her turn, Jize tossed a replica of her Trident onto the ground near another group of Xy'phers, creating a drain field which would slow their advance enough for any of the others to respond to them in time.

Cross thinks as the swarm of Xy'phers entering his room were captured in books unable to get out "Normal a good way to capture uninvited gests is not reduced to a way to buy time. It was a nice little library this place made."

Cross walks out his room and seals his door to help buy time.

Cross heads to were he knows others are fighting.

[It seems that we have some confusion, or the wording is not strong enough to make the implications as Z emphasized earlier. So, I’m stepping in and emphasized that all the Breakers—yes, all of them, are at the brink of exhaustion due to Roya’s illusionary effects. No, you cannot say “well my character—”. They’re exhausted. End of story. So, in the suspense of a massive army flooding the Breakers now, you ought to write the suspense of your characters trying to fight them off at their exhaust state. A burst of power as you build that up is acceptable (and it will be illustrated in such example in a few posts or so). Failure to do so—I will not give warning. Your posts will be deleted and will continue to be deleted until you make the actual effort to do so. Check my post below and use it as a guide (example) of how you write your character, exhausted, in a suspenseful situation, but still muster the strength to fight. Good? Good. Don't respond to this--I won't accept any answers.]

Without any sign of warning, a sudden horde of Xy’phers broke through the walls, the ceiling, all over the apartment complex. In the combination of both the roaring sounds of thunder and lightning, and the scratching noises by the crystallized creatures themselves, the Breakers, at the near point of near exhaustion because of prior events, left them exposed to danger.

“What…?” Spina said, realizing that they are practically everywhere. He tried to do something, but the injury and the inability to move prove to be too much for the old Saiyan. Especially when the horde rushed towards both Spina and Bage, he was in a vulnerable position of being overrun. Thankfully, Zenta rushed in an pushed them off towards the balcony. “Tsk…” It did not take much for the Saiyan to realized how dire the situation out there—it was a sea of vivid rainbow blaring rapidly as the sky darkened from thunderous rainfall. He could not tell how many there were outside, but the number was vast. “How the fuck did they managed to get in our apartment…?!”

Once again, the old Saiyan gritted his teeth at trying to move, slipping out from Bage’s muscular arms and stand on his legs—that was starting to buckle. “Tsk… that damn King… did he planned to overwhelm us with numbers?” He narrowed his eyes, vaguely remembering a strange scene that appear in Roya’s vision. Clenching his fist, although not tightly, he tried to muster some strength to get on the defensive, but him standing, itself, is a challenge. “Bernkastel! You alright!?” He shouted.

“How fitting…” Lucifer had a serious look on his face. His energy levels are not sufficient for him to go all out—or risk becoming a baby again. But he needed to do something to prevent the group of Xy’phers rushing at them. “Barrier!” Lucifer flown towards Berserk and Avalon, generating a light barrier around them to stop their movements on their tracks. Breathing heavily, the weight itself was enough to forced cracks around the barrier. “I believe that I won’t be able to hold it any longer.”

(The book thing was a contiguity he got the room in the first place.)
Cross thinks "can b**ch about the plot hole that I am tired and can't tap in to more power latter for now I have more pressing worries."

Cross says "Its go spelunking in tunnels or attempt teleportation to one my places that you know of. Some thing tells me the spot light want us to go former." as an earthen wall goes up to help buy time for them too chose.
