Reality Metropolis

Ultraman stared at the newest transformation as his dull eyes remained. His cape was blow away by the sudden burst of power in all direction and was ripped into shreds. As pieces of burn fabric of his cape twirl around, the U symbol on his chest deteriorated quickly as stream flooded the area.

“What’s the point…? You’re not interested in this city, just to get a quick fix of your skills…” Ultraman pathetically said. His ears picked up several sounds of people shrieking; despite the protective barrier Bernkastel enclosed around them, Gogeta’s aura was still strong enough to blow them away.

One by one, each of the group of people smashed against the building that came in their way. Their pain caused Ultraman’s eyes to light up. “You just don’t know when you quit… you’re addicted to destruction.” He struggled to stand; his weak knees wobbled against the fusion. His grim expression broke into pure sadness as tears rolled down. “You freaks have it all figure out huh? You have an identity when I don’t? And you assumed that it was her?! Hart?!” Ultraman lifted his arms in a defensive position but shook with uttered terror when standing against Gogeta. “And now people are getting hurt once again, and I can’t do anything about it!”

Unlike Gogeta, raring to go for battle, Ultraman was having an existential crisis—he has no path, no lead, nothing to hold onto. “Don’t go placing your assumptions on me damnit….!” His voice cracks at the end of each word as he attempt to hold back on crying.

Cardmaker Shop

Kazuki rubbed his chin. “Bag of bones, you ain’t so bad.” He responded to Cross. “Well, if you really intel, I supposed I can help you out. If I refused, I might get beat up regardless. Still, you owe me a picture of this little bubble-gum girl; she’ll make a valuable card in the next city. The Gauntlet that used the power of the coins—I added a little failsafe that prevents the user from using too many coins at once. If that were to happen, it’ll shut down momentarily to prevent self-destruction.” Kazuki said. “Get her to use all of it at once, then that’ll probably stop her. I think.”

Spina narrowed his eyes. “Using multiple coins at once…? If we can even force her to that point.” He turned around, feeling the enormous pressure of energy coming at his wake. “Then again…” He turns to Cross, Bara and Brachi. “We need to get back with the others. I’m sensing high energy from that clown again… but it’s a bit stronger this time around… We should check that out.”

“I’ll remained here. I need to take Kazuki in.” Detective Goku said.

“Huh?! Why?!” Kazuki shouted.

“You’re suspicious of fraud and money-laundering of several hundred counts.” The Detective said, turning to the others. “You guys can go on without me. Thanks for giving me all the information regarding Hart—if you manage to find her. Please bring her in so we can properly charge her with her crimes.”

“Alright, stay safe out there. We’ll try to make up for what we did here.” Spina said. “Let’s go.” Spina flies off towards the direction of Bernkastel and Gogeta.

---

On one of the destroyed buildings at a complete distance, seen the scenery unfolding. “It’s time. Do it.” Said in an ominous voice.

Gogeta kept a small frown throughout Ultraman’s breakdown, standing silent. The raging flame of his aura continued to surge as the only sound between the two for a few moments, the fusion at a loss for words. His plan had been foiled: Ultraman did not appear to be reachable from the path Gogeta attempted to persuade him with.

He slowly turned his head towards Bernkastel standing on the rooftops, giving her a confused stare for a brief second before turning his eyes back to Ultraman.

“Ok...I’ll leave, alright? It won’t be fun unless you want to fight, so I’ll just...leave if it’s bothering you.”

Gogeta turned slowly on his heel, striding away in a comfortable walk. His eyes remained narrowed, glancing over his shoulder and his body tense in preparation for a response from Ultraman.

Cross thinks "I just know how to speak to people like you."  Cross says "Bara I trust your willing to let me send a photograph of you to Kazuki once everything is settled or we can do that now."

Cross thinks "Know dark plots like I think I do this would be the most best time for it to kick off."

Bernkastel kept her little smile, holding the chains haughtily and quirking her brows toward Gogeta as if to say 'I told you so'.

"I don't derive amusement from terrorizing nobodies, as that brings me no enjoyment. If it weren't for me, there wouldn't be a single soul or building left... just when I finished talking Gogeta down from obliterating the rest of this rubble, you just had to show up." She sneered down at him from the rooftop with a glare of gleeful contempt. "It just seems so funny... not once did you turn away to help the citizens on the floor and just ignore the clown's sideshow. You watched them struggle to regain consciousness as you stood in the very same spot, looking straight ahead. Were you so entranced in your wallowing that you didn't so much as raise a fist until after you heard their cries of pain and terror? Aren't heroes supposed to prevent that from happening, or is there an unspoken rule to only take action after someone gets hurt?" She asked sarcastically.

"You dared to raise your fists while sniveling so pitifully about how powerless you are, in front of the people you watched become injured before your very eyes. How is it that the so-called Blue Devil took more preventative measures than the city's beloved hero who just stood there instead?" Bernkastel gave an incredulous look as she nodded towards the injured crowd, her expression reverting back to the pity-stare as she shrugged her arms. "Don't get it twisted, I hardly see you as an enemy... I'm only a little disappointed. It just looks to me that you aren't suited to be a hero if you can't even put on a brave face anymore. Perhaps I misjudged poor you a little too hard, so I'll save you from being pitied any further by leaving too." She slowly held her hands up with the chains grasped in her fists to signal she was going to dissolve the forcefield box momentarily, looking at Ultraman one last time in case he decided to opt for a last-minute outburst.

Cross says "I don't know and I you free to as you wish but your ability do so may be hampered by other things."

Cuki's Apartment

Panich stood and turned away, almost as if she were on her way to the kitchen, but half way there she stopped. She turned her head and smirked at Cuki as she raised a couple balls of energy in her hands. "I wouldn't be so thankful if I were you."

With that she began tearing the apartment complex apart, showing no regard for anything in sight. Few of the blasts destroying the apartment from the inside were shot at Cuki as well. The princess tore through the ceiling of the building with a torrent of blast falling from the sky and hitting any nearby buildings.

Spina, along with the others, was flying towards the location of Bernkastel and Gogeta. Although he was indifference about Kazuki’s expression to gather photographs of the Breakers for profit, at least he gave them information on the gauntlet. “We got what we need. If we can find out where she is, we have no reason to why two weeks nor go to the valley of the black crystals. I have a clutch that Ultraman is there with Gogeta—otherwise, why would that bonehead display that much power for?” Spina narrowed his eyes. “To think Bernkastel would let him do that… she must have a plan as well.” He thought about the Crystals that the Detective told. “She probably wants to turn the Breakers into Coins and prevent us from respawning for a long time. Tsk… we need to get there fast—”

A sound of explosion occurred in the other direction. Even at the distance they’re in, they are clearly able to see the buildup clouds erupting in the sky from the apartment complex. Widening his eyes, Spina turned to the others. “We need to head there  now!” He shouted at them, clearly forgetting about Bernkastel and Gogeta—the priority is to see what the heck happened. “Cuki, Lucifer and Panich might be in danger!”

Cuki’s Apartment

Lucifer emerged from the pile of debris on top of him, with ashes covering his face. He blinked a couple of times and looked around. “My word, Spina’s bowels are too destructive.” He stood up, dusted himself from the dirt to see what was going on, and stared at Panich firing the blasts towards the complex as numerous of crows all fly away towards the sky, screaming and shrieking as loud as they could.

“Guess it wasn’t the bowel movement…” He spread out his wings with intent to engage in battle. While others would be thrown into questioning, Lucifer himself have no need for explanation nor reasoning from her. However, the small angel fell face first into the pile of debris—being struck from behind.

Reality Metropolis

Ultraman’s eyes widened by Bernkastel scolded him on his pathetic display.

Aren't heroes supposed to prevent that from happening?

Ultraman shook his head, trying to counter to what Bernkastel was saying, but his words didn’t come out. It was all silence.

You dared to raise your fists while sniveling so pitifully about how powerless you are, in front of the people you watched become injured before your very eyes.

His fists clenched tightly as tears rolled down his cheeks. Ultraman wanted to deny her words, but he couldn’t.

Don't get it twisted, I hardly see you as an enemy... I'm only a little disappointed. It just looks to me that you aren't suited to be a hero if you can't even put on a brave face anymore.

From Ultraman’s perspective, Bernkastel and Gogeta towered before him like literal gods looking down on humans. The sheer difference of not just power nor position, but their utter words weight him down at he stared into utter despair. He wasn’t a hero. He wasn’t a man who honor the people. He was hot-headed and all talk. It’s what she said, Ultraman was barely an enemy to the Breakers—nothing more than an insignificant pest. That is what Ultraman is to them: “disappointment.”

It won’t be fun unless you want to fight

[align=center][video=youtube]

A darkness swallow Ultraman whole, and he felt like he was sinking into an endless void. “Ultraman” to the Breakers, to the people, to the city, to the entirely of Vortex, even in the eyes of being separate from Superman, was an “disappointment”. He was nothing. A nobody. An utter waste of existence.

“You can do it!” A voice is heard.

“Don’t listen to them!”

“Stand up and fight…!”

"You know, you may be loud, but you're onto something!"

"Breakers are insane, but I feel safe around here!"

The memories of various people that praised Ultraman, even after being blow away, Ultraman’s dull eyes became completely grey, indicating that some had given up. Bernkastel’s harsh words have struck him.

[Flashback Memory]

“You know… I been watching you… and we spent all the time together for the past 2 years. You know, I care about your well-being.”

Ultraman’s eyes become teary, seeing Hart stripping down his thoughts with her words. “Then, what am I supposed to do…?”

“Be your own person, not the person you pretend to be. Take it from me will never have an identity of my own.” Hart placed two hands on his face and went for a kiss as Ultraman narrowed his eyes in shock. “You are not Ultraman. Be someone that you want to be.”

[Flashback Memory]

As Bernkastel turned around, a sudden light exploded where Ultraman stood. In less than a fraction of a second, a punch struck the Witch of Miracles on the right side of her face; sped past Gogeta with a powerful shockwave that resulted from the impact. Buildings erupted city wide; windows shattered and old foundations collapsed, as wind pressure spread out in all directions. The people was about to get caught in the powerful shockwave, only to have ice that was left untouched by Gogeta’s transformation to immediately formed around him to defend off any attacks—revealing his intended nature to encase residents in ice to prevent being hurt in any way.
