"Uh... right. It isn't a good time to be asking any questions with a monster still on the loose. My apologies." Vala turned away from Allein to answer Excalik. She noticed that there weren't markings on her arms and hands anymore. The marks must have receded for now...

"Just like Allein said, we can discuss these things back at the guild hall. It's... complicated. At any rate, you're in much worse shape than I am now, bleeding all over the place. We ought to patch you up quickly." She says. Before she can speak any further, a slow clapping comes from somewhere in the room.

A translucent figure appears before the group, but very vaguely in visibility-- like a projection.

"Wow! I'm rather impressed you lot managed to take down my best underling. Too bad she couldn't kill at least one of you off though. What a waste of my magic! Good riddance," the figure said with a laugh as it stood over Eyva's corpse. The figure lifted the rim of the wide-brimmed hat on its head to reveal it was a woman. She wore a wry smile.

Wisp cried out in fear and hid behind Vala.

"So you're the one who's been causing all this trouble!" Vala said with a grimace, pointing her staff at the woman threateningly.

"The more you say that, the less I believe you..." Belmont sweated. "But what could they want with a town this out of the way?... hmm.."

Allien's weapon had turned back into her regular sword and she was too weakened to continue at the moment.

Gold groaned, lifting up his hammer, causing light to flood Excalik's wounds to heal them. He slowly lowered the heavy weapon, fautigue starting to catch up with him.

"Why populate this manor with monsters?"

Excalik was relieved that Vala was okay; however, in his thoughts, he still ponders of what happened to Vala earlier. He noticed his wounds and let out a small chuckle. "It's nothing really. Just a few scratches here and th-" Excalik dropped to the floor like a rag doll. Before he began to speak, clearly in pain, he overheard a clap, then followed by a sound of a woman. He felt an odd sensation of whoever came by.

"G-great.. don't tell me, another one just came by..." Excalik struggled to speak. "Is it.. the boss?"

"Ghouls are strange and ugly creatures. Maybe they are just attacking this place for fun or want to rob your manor of everything you own. However, I do find it odd that they found such a place... I always assumed ghouls lived in more remote places. Oh well."

Gorecilia shrugged and managed to find a flight of stairs that lead up to the third floor Belmont mentioned. She climbed up and made her way to the floor. She looked around for any ghouls but for now, everything seemed normal.

"This is the floor with your heirloom so we might find some answers here."

"Guess you aren't locals around here, huh?" The witch pondered before laughing. "Belmont Manor is home to a prized collection of weapons from the famous monster killer himself! It's only fair I start my base of operations here, a peaceful little place that relied on their sole protector who's good as dead now."

"For what reason?" Vala asked, having knelt on the floor beside Gold and Excalik. "You used all these monsters like playthings, and for why?"

"Ah, I'm so very happy you asked!" The witch said with an unsettling amount of glee in her voice. "You see, I've become bored with the concept of black magic. There's no fun in that anymore, since you use silly old Neutral Energy, being humans and all. But what about harnessing the chaotic energy of monsters, all in one neat little area!? Imagine all the power you could have for all the kinds of spells you could perform, with no worry of running out! I won't need a silly disease like the one plaguing Shina Ania to accomplish my goal of becoming the most dangerous necromancer you'll hear of! The first thing I plan to do with all the free-up chaotic energy is perhaps resurrect Mister Belmont to his former glory and do my bidding for me! Eek, I'm so excited! And you're all personally invited! If you all die like good little vermin, I could resurrect you all too, to even more powerful versions than when you were alive! Fun fun fun!" She laughed maniacally. "I have to get started on the preparations before Eyva's life force is gone completely, so ta-ta~! I'll see you all soon!"

The projection faded.

"Holy shit... this is worse than I thought it would be," Vala said nervously, picking up her cloak to don it again. "Most of us can hardly keep going. How are we going to fight a Necromancer?"
===========

Lord Belmont stopped walking and listened hard against the pattering of rain all around them. "I hear voices. A lot of them! Could they be the intruders? Monsters sound oddly human these days..." He said to Gorecilia. "Let's hurry to them, maybe they're some of my employees."

Allein saw the projection vanish and her eyes switched looks to her sisters and said "I don't know but we will have to find a way. I just don't know how."

Gold grumbled.

"Because even I command the powers of necromancy in my body, but the light will give us strength!" He said reading himself and starting to march further in. "This witch will not persevere over humanity. We will banish her Chaotic Energy whence it came!"

"First off... we gotta get some rest before running off after her... I'm way to wounded to continue... times like this, we need a healer..." Excalik speaks before coughing. "I definitely need healing."

"And I'm plain out of energy to cast any more magic. We have to retreat and come back. The church would be willing to lend us some Holy Water to take back," Vala added. She had little confidence in her ability to help anyone else out at the moment. "And we can't rely on you to heal us all up forever, Gold. Going in there without any planning could get us all killed." She moved to grab Gold's arm in an attempt to stop him from proceeding. "We haven't got much time as it is, but we need at least a little before we can come at her with everything we've got."
