The Reality Vortex

[video=youtube]

Listen closely! It's a new "beginning"
Why do you think this age is testing us?

Power is awakened in an unknown area
Unleash the light, aim for the ultimate level!
We will all clear a series of trials
And overcome what we are now

Forward down the path of distress!
Believe in infinite evolution
And fight!

So all I can do
And all you can do
Is take off and transform
Turn all the scars left on your body into marks of pride
Now all I can do
And all you can do
Is battle on and transform
Down the road of evolution
Touch and go!

A strange world where the impossible happens. Eons ago, a celestial object called daffodil star produced three seeds into the Abyss of Darkness. By absorbing the Dark Energy around them, they would grow into Cosmic Plants and create their respective worlds. However, a war broke out between them for sole domination.

In reaction, the daffodil star produced a fourth seed, Jinaira, into the Abyss of Darkness to discourage in-fighting. However, upon completion, Jinaira didn’t participate in the war and created his own world instead, leaving the fate of those worlds to their destruction from the war.

Jinaira was more interested in creating his ideal world than some squabbles between Cosmic Plants. Since his creation was supposed to disrupt in-fighting, he was not granted the ability to create life. Thus, Jinaira designed his world to do the impossible: bring all beings from other worlds into Reality Vortex.

Thus, the birth of Reality Vortex was born. It was a world supposedly where all beings erased from existence gathered. There is no sense of time, scientific laws nor physics, no logical reasoning; it’s all a jumbled mess. It is the last destination before permanent, true death. Once someone enters Reality Vortex, they cannot leave under any circumstances regardless of battle power or ability. To drive further home, Reality Vortex is enclosed by a powerful barrier that prevents anyone from leaving the world itself. It also protects the world from the endless sea of Dark Energy; otherwise known as the Abyss of Darkness and a creature that lurks within.

Jinaira’s world was barren of life—it is exceedingly rare for anyone to be erased from existence. He’d attempted many times to forcibly will beings into this world—no matter their origin but failed each time. One day, a mysterious man appeared: Doctor Victor von Doom. He was in shock that someone appeared in this world and observed him. After days of studying the Doctor and his futile attempts to escape, Jinaira introduced himself to him. However long their conversation, upon Jinaira coming in physical contact, it overloaded the Doctor with Dark Energy and seemingly destroyed him. Displeased that his once chance to figure out what causes people to appear here, Jinaira leaves and seeks shelter at his manor.

Doom survived the encounter, and the influence of the Dark Energy invaded his mind. Unknown to Jinaira for a brief period, Doom built a machine capable of bringing beings from other worlds into Reality Vortex. Accomplishing this goal drove Doom to seek something greater: merging all worlds into one, where his rule is law.

Although time does not exist in Vortex, eventually, the Breakers formed. They were aided by a strange entity known as the Voice, a spirit guide of Reality Vortex. They were promised that if they obtain a device known as the “tools”, the Voice will help them escape Reality Vortex and return to their home universes. However, these tools were currently in the possession of Doctor Doom and must defeat him to get it. After a cruel battle that erupted between the Breakers and Doctor Doom that left half of the group permanently erased, the Breakers gave the tools to the Voice as promised. In a twist of fate, after Voice gained his physical body, double-crossed the Breakers. He was only interested in regaining his body and reclaim his place in the world—revealing to be its Creator God. He cleaned up the mess from the final battle and established a New Reality Vortex (Reality Vortex v2). Afterwards, after giving them pity points of returning two people erased from existence, force the Breakers to “clean up” the act in the world as he himself take shelter to Vortex Moon.

Now the Breakers are left with a dilemma where they cannot return to their homes, and live in a world thrown into chaos.

Three years had passed since the events of Doctor Doom and Voice appointing the Breakers as “Overseers” of the new world. However, the Breakers, despite many challenges became idle in time, and failed to address the social issues rising around them. Ultraman sought to become the savior of the city through force by defeating the Breakers. However, time and time again, Ultraman was humiliated by the Breakers due to the differences in power.

Things changed rapidly; several new people joined the group for various reasons; Gogeta was looking for his brother, Panich was searching for her family, and Lucifer wants to find his disciple, taken by a warrior called the Coin Hunter. The Coin Hunter, known as Hart, was ambushing people, and taking them as Vortex Coins to even out the playing field against her attack on the Breakers, due to being an Alter being with inconsistency in power. From that moment, all of the Breakers realized that the world had changed dramatically underneath their noses due to not investigating or exploring outside of Reality Metropolis. In swift action, Gogeta had spectacularly destroyed the reputation of the Breakers as “feared” to “hated” due to his over-the-top violence, with Bernkastel enabling such behaviors, towards the people and the city in multiple incidents. One of them leading to a drastic change of Ultraman to figure out himself.

Hart revealed to the Breakers that she’d planned for years to defeat them as the only solution to release the agony existence she became, and free the world from its despair—even in the means of permanent death. Blaming the Breakers for the creation of Alter beings, Hart fought them in the Valley of Black Crystals, a dangerous area that harbors the toxic dark energy. Ultimately, she was soundly defeated and was taken away by Ultraman, now Vortex Man. Furthermore, due to the city in complete and utter ruins with no chance of being rebuild, and the people mostly left to other cities, Detective Goku forced the group under his watch—if they make a single mistake, he will arrest them on the spot. In which, Spina had declared himself as the new leader of the Breakers.

However, all the destruction, the blame and agony feeling of being exposed to hate from other parties, Cuki snapped at the Breakers. In that, it was revealed that her host, Byakko, had took control of her body for three years to see if the Breakers can identify him. Failing to do so, Cuki became enrage and scolded the Breakers for their actions, especially Bernkastel and Gogeta, the two that bond together over the pile of damage they had contribute. In return, the Breakers fired back, leading to a disastrous scenario where neither party moved from their position, until Spina slapped Cuki. In silence, the Breakers are left with a “ominous” cloud until the situation is resolved.

Premise: The Breakers, now with new purpose, must lived with the consequences of their reckless actions and redeem themselves in the eyes of the public. The city utterly abandoned with no chance to being rebuild, Spina must lead the group to explore other parts of the world and rebuild the Breakers’ name. They will encountered new characters, new enemies and then some; however, lurking underneath, a rising force is currently in operation, and sought to dominate the entire Vortex.

“Hello everyone, welcome to our daily news broadcast on the Reality News Network. I am Stacey, and this is my partner, Chad.” Chad waved his hand after Stacey introduced him to the audience watching from their homes. “It has been nearly a week since Reality Metropolis have fell victim to the ruthless destruction caused by Gogeta and Bernkastel’s battle. Businesses, schools and other important factions have dropped everything they had and went elsewhere.”

“In addition, the people living there had also largely abandoned the city with no interest of returning home.” Chad added onto Stacey’s commentary. “It was no longer safe for the people to continue living in the city when the Breakers have committed reckless behaviors. And especially comments like these—warning, comments and the destructive may not be suitable for younger viewers. Please be advise.”

A video footage captured in several moments by nearby residents on their cellular phones, including footage caught by Stacey and Chad on the scene. It shows Gogeta and Bernkastel fighting against Ultraman:

"You wanna save these people, then you have to go through me! I'm the real villain!"

"YOU'LL FIGHT WITH ME ULTRAMAN!! UNLESS YOU WANT MORE BODIES TO PILE UP ON YOUR CONSCIENCE!!"

“Truly shocking.” Stacey said. “And because of those repeated actions, they have dubbed Gogeta and Bernkastel as the Blue Devils. They made be powerful, but their actions earned their group a different title, and spread across other cities to be absolutely weary of the group in case they start to come to their city at some point.”

“We like to remind our viewers that our organization are not tied to any profits. We are a non-profit organization that seeks to bring news to the people in this strange, unpredictable world. We have no interest in monetary value.” Chad clarified the position of the RNN. “You will notice a few slanderous commentaries against us. We have not, and did not, received any kind of information nor items.”

Stacey nodded. “With that said, we are offering support to ensure newcomers that decide to come to Reflection City financial assistance, and we will continue to report any activity. Now, for the other news, we received strange reports of—” The news broadcast was cut off by Spina, visibly annoyed by the contents of the channel.

Spending several days at Cross’ Mansion, the Breakers have gained their sufficient rest, especially after battling against the Coin Hunter, the threat from Detective Goku, and Cuki snapping at them. Figure that it would best to provide at least a couple of days for things to cool down, Spina got up from the couch and headed outside.

“Let’s go home.” Spina uttered, his expression still remained serious and firm, the position he held when he confronted Cuki and the eventual slap. The old Saiyan figure that she will simply returned back to the apartment since there isn’t a lot of places she can go, and majority of Metropolis had turned into scorched battleground. Spina kept to himself and didn’t interact with the others for a while after making declaration about the new changes that the group will undertake. Not waiting for a response from the others, Spina, now fully restored, flown towards the direction of Cuki’s Apartment Complex in rapid speeds.

“Looks like Spina want to take the long way by flying.” Lucifer noted, still in his baby state as the woman carried him in her arms. “Any others want to fly, or simply teleport over there?”

Gogeta audibly yawned while he sat on the couch, his bored stare watching the broadcast on the television. The fusion showed zero change in emotion at the RNN broadcast; his eyes mostly off to the side in thought while the news report heavily focused on damning him for his actions.

He glanced around for a brief moment, sighing lightly as he rose up out of his seat and walking towards Lucifer.

"Yeah...teleporting would be nice. Let's go!"

Bernkastel had taken to looking out one of the mansion's windows while the television played in the background, though her expression didn't change. After several says of nearly comatose-like sleep, she was able to revert her form but her expression remained somewhere between neutral and somber. She hadn't moved from the window until hearing the others chime in, taking her out of whatever she had been thinking about.

"Teleporting is easier." Her arms were crossed as she added to the congregation, but her gaze would move off toward the wall or the floor before consciously pulling it away. Absentmindedly, she would rub the side of her neck as she spaced out, wincing from touching the yellowed bruises on it. Just as quickly, she buttoned the collar all the way up.

"Hey... where is Whis? Did he leave already?"

The only time the others seen Cross was the day after but after the morning he was out taking care of other oblations. Cross thinks "Odds are the others are heading to Cuki's place."  Wend the others appear in the apartment this will be the first time since the morning after they seen Cross. (I hope this works)

Brachi and Bara, both fully restored as well, also prepared to return to Cuki's apartment thanks to Brachi using Instant Transmission.

Bara still showed her puppy-dog eyes to Brachi, having seen her still in a rather down mood, with Brachi smiling at Bara.

"I'll be fine, I just need a bit more time..." She said.

[The above two posts need to be edit. Don't speed read too quickly; otherwise, you noticed that the Breakers haven't arrived there yet. I did, however, did the work of stating that they arrived before the rest. Don't make it a habit.]

“As you wish…” Lucifer’s hands glow brightly after Gogeta and Bernkastel agreed to teleport to the front of Cuki’s Apartment instead of flying there. Several particles of light formed around the Breakers, instantly warping their bodies. “Teleportation!” The small angel shouted.

They vanished into nothingness, warping from one location to another, arriving in the front yard of the apartment complex. “Phew…” Lucifer said. “We have arrived…” He looks up, noticing that Cross, Brachi and Bara have already arrived beforehand. Hearing that Bernkastel wondered where Whis was, perhaps he arrived here earlier than expected. He looked around, but there were no signs of Spina, indicting the older Saiyan hadn’t arrived yet.

“So, Breakers. How will you approach this situation?” Lucifer asked, specifically staring at Bernkastel with his devilish smile.

The entire apartment had rebuilt itself while the Breakers were resting in Cross’s manor. Everything seemed very empty and quiet. The uneasy feeling of loneliness consumed the area. There was no one living nearby the apartments since most of them moved out or were killed due to the fighting and the halls were merely whispered echoes of the wind passing by. The walls were covered with graffiti and unsightly drawings of the Breakers and their actions. Despite the ugly nature of the art around them, the entire apartment seemed to be completely clean and tidy, for the most part. Near the front yard where the Breakers landed were several piles of broken furniture, expired food, and extra rubble that didn’t get reused while the apartment rebuilt itself. Most of it was done by one person and there was no doubt as to who it was. From where they stood, they saw the familiar balcony with Spina’s plants all back to where they should be as well as in the small garden he tended to. An awful stench loomed in the air and grew stronger the closer the group was to Cuki’s home unit. The smell matched the dead or ruined foliage that used to surround the complex and trash tossed towards the area from any bystanders.

On the very front of the complex in plain view for everyone to see was a large slogan that was plastered on with spray paint. It read all over the halls and even on the floor of the yard.

“NO MORE BREAKERS!”

Bernkastel's cheeks briefly grew hot from indignance watching Lucifer effectively sneer up at her, causing her to scowl. Don't look down on me... I'll show you I don't need any help! Even though she was also somewhat annoyed Spina, took the scenic route, maybe that would be better if he arrived last since he was unpredictable with this type of situation.

"Just stay calm, no violence, that's all there is to it..." Turning towards the door of Cuki's apartment, she forced herself to breathe in a lungful of air, immediately regretting that, before slowly raising an arm. She felt like the eerie silence was a threat that the building would just collapse into a pile if anyone knocked. The trash and graffiti was enough to indicate this, but the atmosphere felt completely unwelcoming, like they all were intruding despite having only been gone a few days at most. It didn't feel like 'their' space anymore...

Do it just like you rehearsed... you're supposed to knock, right?! Yes, I'm pretty sure...

After shaking her head to collect herself, Bernkastel gingerly knocked on the door several times and cleared her throat. "Cuki... it's us. We've come to talk to you in a non-violent manner. May we... come in?"

When Bernkastel knocked on the door, there was a muffled voice on the other side and the scratching of someone moving a chair. Light footsteps approached the door until several the metallic clicks of a lock were heard. The door handle jiggled but the door itself did not budge. The locks were fiddled with again and when attempting to open the door, it did not budge. They heard several attempts before hearing a sigh of defeat on the other side. Suddenly, the door ripped open from the locks and eventually, torn off the hinge. Once the door was removed from its frame, the smell was completely overwhelming. Cuki's apartment was no doubt the source.

Easily and effortlessly holding the door overhead was the familiar tall and fluffy beast the gang grew to know. Zenta frowned seeing that he had to rip the door apart but being blind doesn't help him identify locks. His minor pout turned to a look of delight upon seeing the Breakers return.

"Ah, Breakers, what a pleasant surprise!" Zenta said wagging his tails. "Please, come in!"

Zenta leaned the busted door on the wall and moved himself to the side to allow the Breakers inside. He bowed his head humbly. The inside of Cuki's apartment had all the windows open and several portable fans that seemed to try to ventilate the area from the terrible reek. Several scented candles were lit in order to help rid the disgusting smell. The dining room had large splotches of red and blue paint and it looked as if something erupted on the dining table where they all ate. The ceiling, floor, walls, everything in the dining area (and part of the living room) was covered in a horrible clash of paint. Parts of the wall appeared to have smudges on them, evidence of someone trying to clean it off but failing. Other parts of the wall had a fresh new coat of paint that matched the rest of the home, indicating that someone was painting over the mess.

Near the sofa were multiple containers that held hundreds of letters addressed to the Breakers from the citizens of Metropolis.

"Cuki is washing off in the restroom, she will attend us shortly. Please, take a seat and make yourselves at home!"

Cross enters but just floats there. Cross thinks noticing the letters "I wonder how many are hate mall? Some thing tells me a lot them. I hope she did not chose to read them the last time I checked thanks to the cheat (Byakko) and the foolish actions of Spina those may make things worst."

Gogeta visibly cringed in following the others into the apartment. He glanced around, taking in the sights of the grisly scene; a disgusted look on his face maintaining itself as he looked around. Preoccupied with the current events, Gogeta had completely forgotten to respond to Bernkastel’s question earlier but blurted out his own thoughts once again in a plain tone.

“Jeez, what happened here?”

Brachi and Bara both frowned with disgust as they took a look around. It was then that Brachi began to sing a single verse, albeit softly, but Bara picked it up regardless...

"Take a look around you... at the world we've come to know... does it seem to be much more, than a crazy circus show... but maybe from the madness, something beautiful will grow..."

“Ah, what a foul smell.” Lucifer frowned when Zenta opened the door of the Apartment Complex. The caretaker placed a tissue around the bottom half of his face, covering his mouth and nose. Tears began to form around his eyes, as the stench was so vile, it caused him to shed them. “By the heavens, what and where did that odor come from? This definitely doesn’t smell like Spina back then—this is much worse than that.” Lucifer closed his eyes as the caretaker followed behind Bernkastel. His voice clearly muffled from the tissue covering his mouth. “The whole things looked like someone raided here, a disgusting mess. Did everyone take collective dumps at the front yard or something? Watch your step just in case.”

"Oh yes... please do pardon the smell. It came from a stink bomb hidden inside a package labeled to one of you guys. Cuki and I have done everything to lessen the odor from opening windows to lighting candles. The smell was far worse two days ago, Cuki and I had to sleep on the roof to vent the entire apartment ohoho! As for the explosion of paint in the dining room, that was also from a package directed to Lady Bernkastel in specific. Once Cuki placed the package on the table for safekeeping, it exploded into the mess you see now, catching poor Cuki in the middle."

Zenta chuckled to himself as he pointed to the containers full of mail.

"Cuki stopped accepting packages for fear that people might get creative in ways to terrorize you lot, so she accepted all the letters instead. My, you lot have grown quite popular albeit for all the wrongs reasons."

As Zenta explained to the Breakers, Cuki finally appeared from down the hall with a bucket clasped in her hand. Her face, clothes, and hair had the residue of paint explosion from the dining room. She looked a lot better than when they last met and seemed a bit happier than last time as well. She appeared to have been working hard at cleaning and fixing the apartment but at her own pace and with the help of her Master. The young female turned to see the Breakers inside her home and gave them a large smile before placing the bucket of paint on the dining table.

"Hey, guys! Nice to see you guys here again! I thought you guys left the city!" Cuki laughed, her voice full of the usual life it was known for. "Yeah, I know it stinks in here but some prankster left a stink bomb in a box for Geegee. Master might have told you already. If you guys are hungry, there's leftovers in the fridge. But anyway, how have you guys been these last few days?"

"We've had better days, but we can manage now, thank you," Brachi said, "how are you doing, Cuki? Do you need any help cleaning all of this up?"

Majin Bara wondered if she could use her Transfiguration Beam to fix some of the damage done.

Bernkastel rubbed her neck as she sifted through the various envelopes, knowing none of them had anything good to say. Placing them back in the pile, she held her breath so as to not breathe in whatever remnants of the stink bomb were in the air.

"I'm guessing that's why all those locks were in place. Otherwise someone probably would've set real bombs in here and raided it inside-out..." Bernkastel's frown deepened as Zenta caught them up on the details, looking more uncomfortable as she looked at all the assorted paint splotches. She cringed a bit at the mental image of Cuki unwittingly setting down a box that exploded with paint and another that probably contained an unspeakable filth.

"A deep-cleaning is certainly in order for a mess of this level... before that, let's... um... speak a bit." Bernkastel cleared her throat uncomfortably. "How is your hand? Can I... see it for a moment?" She asked, referring to the one she scratched and bit a few days prior. Somehow she was unsure if merely mentioning the hand would instantly sour Cuki's mood, but Bern knew she couldn't leave without touching on what happened.

Cross says kindly to Cuki "They have been saying on one my places in the city and if you want I am more than willing to extend that to you as well. Besides dealing with my one origination issues nothing much."

Cross sends Zenta "Your shore the Cheat (Byakko) is suppressed? Don't get me wrong I trust your capability to do so but it seems to good to be true that it token a weak of no work on our part."

Gogeta mostly looked around with a blank stare while Zenta spoke and explained the situation. His eyes turned, however, and immediately at Cuki’s cheerful entry, Gogeta broke out into a strong scowl.

The fusion avoided the smaller Saiyan girl in his stare, glancing away in an agitated scowl while crossing his arms, standing in silence a few feet behind Bernkastel.
