The Reality Vortex: New Roads

Lucifer took another sip of juice, seeing that Gogeta escaped after squirming around, and Bernkastel rushing shortly afterwards. “I do have to agree with Cross. I don’t want to weigh in how you guys determine the fate of your group, but it does seem to carry a dangerous motive if you continue let the fusion destroyed the city like that. Have you guys forgotten about the Coin Hunter?” The angel noticed Cuki walking out aimlessly. “And the one thing I dislike is having the fate of others being oppressed because of actions of others, simply because they are bias or deluded in their own world view, even the destruction of one’s self-worth for the sole purpose of proving a point.”

Spina burst the door opened, seeing the explosive of stench overwhelm the bathroom. “Don’t go in there.” He sweated a bit as if he were fighting for his life. “Where the hell is Gogeta and Bernkastel?”

[Television starts]

Once again, the television went on a breaking new alert. “Hello, this is your favorite anchorman, Stacey! We have live report coming in the middle of Reality Metropolis. Despite efforts to rebuild the city, the culprit behind it had sudden appear and fighting with the residents! The residents retaliated by throwing various objects towards the villain warrior.”

“Boo this man! Boo!” One man is heard shouting in the back, throwing random objects.

“However, suddenly, the not-Vegetto, Gogeta, have started fighting with them once again! Now it seems Bernkastel of the Breakers, have shown up. Is she assisting with him? Are we practically doom under their feet?!” The blue devils are asserting their dominance once more! We need.... Ultraman!"

[Television ends]

Spina narrowed his eyes. “Are you god damn serious!?” He rushed out the door but was quickly flatten by a strange source of magic. “…I ain’t move!”

Lucifer forced him down as his eyes narrowed. “Let Bernkastel handle it. Cross did say that dealing with Gogeta will determine our fate. You join will simply get in the way.” The small angel chuckled. “Free will allows us to do this far, let see how Bernkastel will exercise her will. That’s the nature of anarchy, let it run its course. All of us being there is just asking for more trouble than worth. Let the fool face the consequences of his actions. That's the beauty of exercising your free will, you face the consequences attached to it." Lucifer let him go. “Besides,I do believe we have other pressing matters; let use this opportunity to learn about the Coin Hunter. With the city in shambles, it’ll be easier to look for them.”

Spina turned back, utterly confused at Lucifer’s lack of care regarding Gogeta’s action, all for the sake of allowing Bernkastel, Gogeta and the people’s free will to sort it out. “Is this the anarchy Bernkastel spoke of…?” That was ringing in Spina’s mind. He turns to Cuki, seeing her in such a state and Panich was nowhere to be seen. It was literally an absolute awful week. “And how do we do that? We don’t know a damn thing about the Coin Hunter. How are we suppose to look?!”

The trash hurled at Gogeta did little to actually damage him, but the man flinched and reacted all the same. The hits struck his crazed state of mind more than anything; each attack he viewed as an absolute threat. In kind, Gogeta hurled destructive, world shattering blasts of blue energy towards each direction he felt a piece of trash strike him, indiscriminately firing off blasts.

He had barely begun his assault of ki blasts by the time Bernkastel had arrived, and he turned to face towards her with a scared yelp. His chest rose and fell heavily with his labored breathing, clearly exhausted from the battle damage still wearing him down. Gogeta, however, did not reply to Bernkastel's questions. The radiating blue flame billowed up while Gogeta merely spaced his legs, his blue pupils shaking like his body in the intimidation he felt towards the smaller witch. The wild fear in his face only strengthened as Bernkastel drew any closer; like a wild animal ready to attack someone attempting to help it.

His panting quickened, showing through his body language that he was moments from attacking Bernkastel instead of listening to her advice.

Cuki silently watched the TV as the news broke out showing Gogeta and Bernkastel in the middle of the city she tried to save three days ago. The people were mad and Gogeta was out causing more mayhem, even after she worked so hard to stop him and Broly from destroying it. A long sigh escaped her lips as she slowly made herself rise back to her feet and approach the TV. Her hands grabbed the sides of the electronic before yanking it off from the wall. In a small fit of rage, Cuki took the television and heaved it through the glass doors of her balcony and sent it flying far away. The Saiyan yelled as loudly as she could, the stress finally setting her off.

"I hope they get their way with that idiot..." Cuki grumbled to herself. "It's not... fair..."

Cuki dropped back on to the sofa, watching the glass door repair itself and the TV forming back on the wall, as usual for her apartment. The news played back as nothing happened and Cuki slumped deeper into the sofa, her ears flattening on top her head. She wanted to nap but her nerves and rage towards the news refused to let her rest. The look on her face became more and more lifeless, clearly void of hope.

What was the point of stopping Gogeta if he was going to destroy more anyway..? Why did I bother helping him..? Why help anyone at this point..? What did I... do... wrong..?

"It's quite alright Brachi, I won't be needing anything right now," Panich mentioned as she made her way up the steps. She didn't pay any mind to the mess that the breakers were getting themselves into, seemingly unbothered by any notion of them being villains. She had heard it all before. Petty insults like that meant nothing to her.

Brachi nodded at this.

"Suit yourself, but if you still want some, don't hesitate to ask." She said, giving Panich her space for now, before sighing as she finished her own cooking and proceeding to eat her breakfast, with Bara sitting beside her, with the Majin looking concerned about the whole situation.

"Are you not afraid about the whole situation?" She then innocently asked Brachi.

"I should be used to it by this point. Them labeling us as 'villains'? Sticks and stones, Bara. With the whole mess being out of control as it is, I could care less as to what people think of me right now... I mean, even back on our Earth people used to call me a freak just because of what I am. I just ignore those kind of petty insults; they mean nothing to me. Getting my friends back right now is my main concern and come hell or high water, I will see to it that it will happen one way or the other." Brachi replied.

Bara nodded at this.

"It's just a frigging shame that the antics of some people in here has made our situation more... 'complicated' to put it that way. Then again... since when have things been easy for us in the first place, given our encounters with Siber, Ruthas and the like... and don't get me started on the Metar..." Brachi said, emitting a slight groan at that as it were clearly thoughts she wasn't happy with coming back to her now, but with the chaos of the past days, those memories are coming back to haunt her.

Cross says "I did a bit of work and did find out quite a lot thanks to a bug I placed on Panich as well Panich her self." Cross opens a map and points on the location and says "this is a good starting place but if Hart did that odds are good she moved and/or set up an ambush."

Cross says "After a bit of confirming what Hart told Pinch about a rule change. All versions of one self are either facing oblivion or merging in to a singularity of self." A candle was lit using hell fire and cross appearance changed to a man with black hair, Red Eyes, his robes became a red suit and black tie. Cross has become a Demon lord.

Cross says "Is a good indication of what I getting at. the radial change form a lich to Demon Lord." He did light another candle with Ghost Fire to change back to a lich.

Bernkastel carefully eyed Gogeta's movement, studying him for a few moments wondering what she could possibly say. One wrong move could send him back into a frenzy, but for now she had his attention directed toward her.

"Nobody step any closer. If you don't want him destroying anything else, then stay out of my way." She tersely warned.

This approach would have to be different than the tried-and-failed method of physical discipline; and if they fought, they might level the city out entirely. It's been a long time since she looked into someone's eyes to see pure instinctive fear-- but it gave her no amusement, the sight was simply pitiable. Remaining in midair, she crossed her legs into a sitting pose as a noncombatant stance.

How I hate to play these types of roles... Bern thought to herself with a deep breath before clearing her throat to speak.

"Come now, Gogeta, it's just me. I didn't come down with intent to harm you... I only wish to talk. So I won't attack you as long as you don't try to attack. These people aren't a real threat to you physically, since they have no way of defending themselves from us," she said, keeping her tone even and reserved-- partly due to standing alone with so many eyes watching her every move. "Besides, the metropolis is supposed to be a place for people to live daily life, not be destroyed spontaneously."

She furrowed her brows in thought as she analyzed the situation, gears turning in her head. Something about what Spina said to Gogeta must have triggered this primal fear from within. But she had to ask directly since it could have been anything or everything.

"Is it what Spina said about your fight with Broly 3 days ago? You can't remember doing such a thing, yet you awoke surrounded by angry looks and harsh words that cut deeply like a blade you can't dodge." She crossed her arms, her dress billowing from the wind. "You're scared of being completely outcast for what you don't remember doing, aren't you?"

“You placed a bug on Panich?” Spina said, growing concern and wondered if he had any bugs on his body. However, he raised a brow regarding the merging Cross spoke of. “Huh? What are you talking about?” Spina said in confusion when Cross changing between different version.

“I heard about that too from that Detective Saiyan. He states that if a version of you is here, there is no longer version around; possibility erased as a result.” Lucifer added onto the conversation. “But the merging with one incarnation? That’s the first I heard of that. All incarnation of one’s self merged into a singular being….”

Spina scratched his head, wondering how Hart can have that kind of knowledge. He doesn’t remember if the Voice stated such a change. Perhaps he was unaware of it as well? The old Saiyan looked at the map Cross brought up, seeing that Hart’s possible location. “So maybe that why Panich was gone for a while... she wanted to get more information... but how come she didn't tell us this?" Spina thought to himself. He shook hishead. "Nevermind that, is that where she is located? We need to head over there now."

"Then let's make haste." Lucifer said.

"No. You stay here." Spina said. "Cross, Brachi, Bara and I will handle this matter. Last thing we need is another attack on the apartment. Besides, someone need to watch out Cuki and Panich while we're gone." He said, completely unaware of Panich's hatred for Lucifer.

Reality Metropolis

Although there a lot of people saved by Bernkastel, the way Gogeta was reacting made her efforts moot in their eyes. “The blue devil [Bernkastel] is here to assist this chaotic man!” One shouted at the top of his lungs. “If Vegetto was here, he would’ve put an absolute stop to your actions!”

“Just get the hell out of here you freaks!” One of them shouted. “If the police won’t do it, we will!” They continue throwing any trash at them.

-----
Ultraman’s ears keeping picking up sounds of destruction nearby. His body shook because he was stuck in the peril. By instinct, he stood up, but froze in place. His eyes flicker on any action he wanted to do.

[flashback starts]

Ultraman grunted when the Coin Hunter placed their hand his face, but in a gentle, caressing way. He narrowed his eyes upon the peaceful touch. “What are you doing…?”

“Ultraman, I came here to plead. I have been watching you, for the past three years.” The Coin Hunter removed their helmet, revealing to be Hart.

“Hart!? You’re… You’re the Coin Hunter?!” Ultraman took a step back upon the realization, but Hart keep him in place. “But…”

“Ultraman listen to me. You are not fit to be Superman.” Hart bluntly said, Ultraman’s eyes widened by her statements. “In this world, there are people that are resulted of various beings placed in one. Superman is one of those beings, being all Supermen across your world—but you were not deemed suitable for that. You are an outcast. A reject by the eyes of this world and yours. Yet, you kept fighting to prove your worth, when your worth as Superman had been decided already.”

“W-what are you say—”

“You will never be a Superman. You will never be a hero like Superman. You will never gain the respect from the Breakers by pretending to be Superman. You are a reject through and through, from this world to your old one. Any attempts to do otherwise, is a futile effort to find worth to justify yourself.” Hart pulled out a Superman Coin. “You will never be him.”

Ultraman’s eyes become teary, seeing Hart stripping down his thoughts with her words. “Then, what am I supposed to do…?”

“Be your own person, not the person you pretend to be. Take it from me will never have an identity of my own.”

[flashback ends]

Ultraman grabbed on his chest, the U symbol that he carried all his life as he went in deep thought, still indecisive on what to do. Yet, the restless shouting from the people, Ultraman narrowed eyes and jumped off the building.

Cross says "The bug was a back up just incase Pinch was captured or turned to Hart's way of thinking. Hart blames us for everything or that the impression I got form what I was able to gather before she fried the bug I placed. "

Cross says "After we resolve the Coin Hunter/Hart thing is resolved and if we come out on the there sided we all need to discuss the future of our group."

The trash that sailed forth from the citizens strangely seemed to disappear upon reaching a certain distance to Gogeta's proximity. The unruly crowd continued to riot despite Bernkastel's commands, so the source and intent remained strong. However, each citizen began to crumple to the floor from an unseen source that seemingly took care of any debris that got too close to Gogeta as well. To the untrained eye, nothing was visible; however, a distinct blur of a man clad in a simple suit and glasses shot from opposing sides of the street in the movements. To Bernkastel, he could be clearly seen as the same stranger who managed to return one of the stolen items to Cuki during the encounter with Blank Guy at Wordplay's bar.

He soon came to a halt once the entire unruly crowd had been knocked unconscious. He seemed to be an average human man, yet leaned against the side of the nearest building with his arms crossed to silently watch the ongoing developments in a strange manner that clearly indicated this man was anything but normal. Raising his head a bit, he met Bernkastel's eyes only for a moment, his black pupils staring into hers before reaching up and grabbing onto the bill of his fedora. Tipping it graciously, the man's voice rung true within her mind through telepathy.

Don't mind me, my dear. The name's Clark Kent, reporter for the Daily Planet. I'd like to write an exclusive for you, to get the real truth out there. I look forward to seeing you work.

Gogeta's eyes were locked firmly on Bernkastel at this point, unaware of the voices of the crowd or the trash that failed to hit him. The edges of his eyes darkened, his body still tense. His pupils shook even more timidly, yet golden energy swirled around the blue flame similar to the breaking moment during the fight with Broly as he shouted violently, his dual voice cracking slightly at the end.

"I didn't do anything wrong!!"

He clenched his fists tighter.

"I was the one who stopped Blank Guy!! I was the one who stopped Ultraman!! But everyone says I'm bad when they failed to do what I did!! I'm the good guy!!"

Like a child, however, the fusion's eyes welled with tears, slowly streaming down the sides of his cheeks.

"I helped!! No one should call me a bad guy!! No one should want to kill me!!"
