The Reality Vortex: New Roads

Bernkastel watched Spina run off to the restroom before staring at Brachi with a dumbfounded expression on her face, rendered speechless. "I- me? But that doesn't make any sense at all, I don't understand why I would do such a thing..." It made absolutely no sense to her because she was a staunch defender of her stash, and the probability she'd share it with Spina of all people was even more confusing. And even so, for her to get intoxicated would normally have required her to binge the entire cabinet she had. Not a mere solo cup. She bit her nail as her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment. "I... I don't remember anything, at all..."

She shook her head and took Bara's aspirin offering with the water, totaling her medication to six pills since she knew she'd have at least several more headaches to deal with. "It's okay, it's fine. Cleaning rooms is unnecessary, there's no need for that. That isn't something that should be expected of you anyway," Bernkastel insisted, rubbing her temple. "W-we'll just go one step at a time here and keep a low profile today. Deal with the little issues first and handle the... big... issues..." she trailed off towards the TV.

"...Later. Just, leave the nimrod to me for a while." Bernkastel sighed indignantly. In a way, she was responsible for him getting drunk in the first place for leaving it out within reach-- stupid of her to think he wouldn't try. The other problem was that she didn't know where to start with the small issues due to the gravity of the situation with the Coin Hunter still looming over them. There wasn't even much of the City left, she thought as she shoveled the food into her mouth, desperate for something to occupy her painfully empty stomach. Drinking her cold coffee wordlessly, she wondered if the reason Cuki didn't sleep was to ensure they all wouldn't endure a surprise attack from an enemy. The strange sensation from before reappeared like a knot in her throat-- she didn't know what to do.

Cross says "Odds are its going get worst before it gets better."

Cross thinks "with the changes to the natural rules that would cover way things been as quite as they were and way people been clameing a lot mergers invoving me and verous versions of my self. I mean what happend with Gogata 3 days ago would been a quite day at this point most eterntyes."

Gogeta had started mid way into hungrily engulfing the leftovers without any sort of preheating, his cheeks full to the brim as he looked up and blinked with wide eyes at Brachi. He swallowed all of the food in a single gulp, his throat expanding a bit as the food travelled down to his stomach before he let out a small burp, rubbing his lips with the back of his right hand.

"I am feeling pretty happy today...but I don't know about proud!"

He tossed a couple of other various meats and sides into his mouth by hand for a moment in his carefree gluttony, but steadied his chewing in slowly taking in the atmosphere of the room. His happy go lucky demeanor gave way a bit, watching Bernkastel and Brachi speak in confusion.

"Broly? Huh?"

Gogeta turned his eyes to Cuki at the request she made to control his flatulence, pausing. A small frown began to form in seeing her exhausted and dejected demeanor, the fusion slowly putting down the food he pried from the refrigerator and glancing around only for a brief moment. The television caught his eye, and he quietly listened on to the broadcast. He blinked hard, his eyes widened in shock as Spina hoisted him up and uttered the threat, the stunned expression remaining throughout as Spina departed for the restroom. He glanced down a bit, the last sentence sticking in his head a bit longer.

"Because of you, we got even more shit!"

Gogeta remained silent, glancing down for a bit. His head turned, the food in his mouth still unchewed as he glanced amongst the other Breakers while Panich entered. The frown on his face only grew; the disgusted, frustrated expressions of Brachi and Bernkastel sticking in his sight despite it only being a very recent memory. His eyes turned a bit towards the restroom, imagining the outright rage of Spina he had displayed moments ago and his body trembled in anticipation of the death threat. He turned his head back towards the kitchen table, receding a bit like an animal afraid of being hit at the sight of the exhausted Cuki once more.

Gogeta slowly put down the remaining bits of food in his hand quietly in the box in front of him, and doing his best to avoid making a scene, he quickly hurried out of the kitchen towards the front door. He tripped a bit on his feet in the pained shuffle from his body still being injured from the fight three days ago, stumbling through and smashing the front door to bits. Once he had made the loud sound, he broke out into a limping sprint out the door, trying to flee the Breakers' compound towards Reality Metropolis.

“Well, that was rude.” Lucifer said Panich completely ignored him and headed upstairs. “And Cuki slaved all day on the stove making this trash.” Lucifer smells Brachi’s cooking as well. “And even more disgusting delicacy is on the way. Gogeta, perha—”

[Television starts]

“And there we have it. It seems that the Detective Agency claims that they’re still investigating the crime, and possibly have more information. However, one thing for sure, the one called Gogeta is certainly not the same person as Vegetto. Numerous times, Gogeta have unleashed utter destruction upon the city. Here’s are some residents’ thoughts on the matter.”

“No matter how you see it, that guy is a total menace! The Breakers are money grubbing cynics, but that guy is a total nutjob. A villain! I’m wagering my support behind Ultraman.”

“Remember that one time we had that issue with one of the goonies several years ago? Vegetto did his best to stop him, and protected the city, as the Breakers sat around and did nothing. Maybe that’s why he left the Breakers.” One resident said. “He didn’t want to be associated with a group of villains.”

“Villains you say?”

“It makes sense. I saw the footage where they foot Ultraman. That multi-hair colored girl strangled the hell out of Ultraman. And the Breakers act like they’re tough stuff because of their strength. And now they have Gogeta?! He’s a villain I say! Vegetto ain’t like that at all! Not to mention, he is a lot more handsome. Those bangs don’t lie.”

“And there you have it folks. I think it wise to claim that the Breakers aren’t do-nothings cynics, but outright villains—as they harbor Gogeta in their ranks. I think it's safe to say that Vegetto leaving the Breakers for his own path… was the best decision. He was better off without them. We’ll bring more information when they come. Back to you, Andrew.”

[Television ends]

“Cross spoke too soon. It got worse, fufu.” Lucifer was a bit disappointed upon hearing the broadcast. “Looks like the Breakers are the bad guys.... yikes. Gogeta, you really earned yourself a reputation—” Before he could finish, he watched Gogeta hurried out the door. “My, he was out in a hurry.”

Cross says as boney hands hold Gogeta down to prevent Gogeta form fleeing "Before we keep at it do we care if we liked or not? What do we do with this fool may determine our response." As these hands start to drag Gogeta back in sided.

Cross says Lucifer "My statements were on odds and It may gotten worst but it not geting better." Cross is still reading a book.

were the fight happened

Mage 1 asks"I don't get way our Overlord chose to associate with the Breakers?" Mage 2 says "Because he really don't care what the uninformed think. Its going be slow given the nature of the convergent point but I hoping the other versions of our master may shift him in to being more active."

Cuki seemed to ignore everyone and everything tossed at her, the only thing that caught her attention appeared to be the news and the citizens talking about the Breakers. Like a zombie, she rose from her seat and went towards the tv, standing right in front of it, watching and listening to whatever they were saying. As she listened, her face remained emotionless as the people berated the Breakers for the actions of only a few. The stress, lack of sleep, and mental stress were getting the best of her. Her aura was strong with animosity and it was very clear she did not want to deal with nonsense today but there was a hint of sorrow and grief.

"So they hate us even more... soon they'll rile up and try to scare us out of the city, or worse, kill us..." Cuki groaned. "So much for making this place nice..."

Cuki said nothing else and decided to slowly walk past Cross and Bernkastel, her small body reeking with silent hostility. Her tail had yet to grow back and the bandages she put on earlier were starting to tear and dangle off the stump. She went to Bernkastel's room and began to change the sheets, regardless if they were clean or not, then did the same with Gogeta and Spina's room. Cuki began to mumble to herself, almost as if fighting with an unknown being. It was possible she was a little delusional but her words were very odd, especially coming from her.

"I told you about those Breakers... they aren't as special as you made them out to be... It was just a mistake... They would have forgiven me if I had done it... No, they wouldn't, they only care about themselves... That's not true, they're not all bad... Everything has a breaking point, even you, Cuki..." Cuki planted her forehead against the wall in the hall, clawing at it with her nails and leaving claw marks as she sunk to her knees. "Look what they've done to you, Cuki... No, it's just an accident... It's abuse..."

Cuki's mumbles became unintelligible studders until she went silent for a moment before moving up to her feet. She wobbled her way back to the living room and seemed to walk in a circle due to her delirium but she managed to slump down on the sofa. A card fell out of her sleeve as she paced about and she had not noticed it yet. The card laid face down on the floor, nearly slipping under the table by the others. The card was of her cherished Master, Zenta.

Gogeta yelped, crashing into the ground from the boney hands that encased his body. He grimaced, squirming in the grip to no avail. His shocked eyes turned towards the front door, seeing him slowly being dragged back, and in a bid of desperation, he fired off a small blast of ki in the direction of the city. The little sphere travelled a few meters off the ground down the area.

As he soon was dragged through the door way, Gogeta managed to squirm his other arm up towards his head, pressing two fingers to his forehead. His facial expression had been completely different than his usual goofy self: the scared, sadness clear in his face before he suddenly dissipated into thin air to escape Cross' trap.

The small blast traveled through the city streets shortly after it was fired, and in the blink of an eye, Gogeta appeared on the street just as the energy blast had traveled past. He panted lightly, recollecting himself. He turned his head over his shoulder, the Breakers' apartment completely out of sight now that he had arrived in the middle of the metropolis.

Ok...ok...I just need to find somewhere safe.

Not fully understanding where exactly he was, Gogeta straightened himself out with a small grimace and clutched his side.

Why is everyone trying to kill me?

The passer bys instantly took notice as Gogeta nearly was hit by a speeding car, a loud honk from the vehicle drawing attention to the fusion. He glanced up, seeing a few men and women point towards him. Furrowing his brow and frowning, Gogeta ducked his head down and attempted to hobble to the opposite side of the street after recovering from the near hit from the car.

"Hey!! That's the guy from the news!!"

"Honey stay back! Let the police handle this!!"

Gogeta quickly hobbled through a crowd, seeing a dark alleyway that was empty only a few meters away. Each pedestrian he tried to push past had already been turned to look at him, recognizing his face. Gogeta panted heavily, but before he could reach the alley way, a pair of arms launched forward and pushed him down onto the ground. A pair of larger guys quickly moved up to block the path to the alley, larger humanoid men that cracked their knuckles.

"Hey tough guy, you think you can mess with our city and get away with it?! We aren't scared of you!"

Gogeta pushed himself up a bit, his dual voice meager and reeling away a bit.

"I didn't do anything."

A newspaper roll flung forward from the left, striking Gogeta on the head. It did little to affect the man, but Gogeta flinced and quickly rose to his feet afterwards to try and escape the other direction.

"What about all those people you killed last week!! You're a monster!"

Gogeta kept his frown, the pedestrians beginning to swarm on each side or flee in the opposite direction to avoid the scene entirely. He spaced his legs, his muscles instinctively tensing in seeing the crowd began to block him off in a circle in the street.

"I was just trying to help!"

The crowd's irrate and angry shouting became instantly indiscernible, each voice attempting to speak in anger at the notion of Gogeta's attempted help. A few more pieces of cans and bottles were hurled at Gogeta shortly after, the fusion ducking slightly and blocking the incoming debris with his forearms. Traffic of cars had blocked both ways on the street from the crowd encircling Gogeta, yet he perked his head slightly in hearing the police sirens wail in the distance. The flashbacks to the chase with Blank Guy suddenly filled his head, and despite the Reality Metropolis having little ability to contain Gogeta's staggering power in comparison, Gogeta began to clench his fists and shouted.

"Get back!"

Hurling both arms outward from left to right, Gogeta unleashed a powerful torrent of telekinetic power in ever direction with wide eyes. The crowd of pedestrians encircling him instantly flung like ragdolls in every direction; bodies crashing into windows and the sides of skyscrapers with devastating force. A blue flame rapidly shot up from underneath the fusion's boots, engulfing his body in an instant in powering up to Super Saiyan Blue. Police cars from across the city began to rapidly close in on the source, the coins raining down around the blue flame engulfing Gogeta's body. Gogeta's wild and tense stare danced around like a madman from side to side, his fists clenched and repeatedly whirling around as if he were attempting to be prepared for an attack from any angle, loudly shouting with a crazed expression.

"I'll fight you!! I'll fight all of you!! I'll take you all on!!! You won't kill me!!!"

Bernkastel's fists balled up at the mention of Vegetto's name, her face growing hotter as though she felt the broadcast was a thinly veiled taunt from the ongoing cosmic joke. She didn't care about being perceived as a villain-- so what? All the more reason to stay out of their way if one was so fearful of them. What do those insipid morons at RNN know about Vegetto anyway? He was just a broken spirit who ran off on his own because it wasn't "fun" anymore. What's so heroic about that? Just hogwash, it was. Roughly putting her coffee cup down, she was about to snap at Lucifer's incessant commentary, but she immediately saw Gogeta wasn't seated anymore, her face contorting from suppressed rage into indignant surprise. Then she heard the splinters scattering around the doorway.

Fine then, you go on and run, too! That's all you fusions are good for anyway, is running! Bernkastel thought bitterly, her mood further soured from the waves of negative vibes that practically were palpable in the air as Cuki passed by. Run and quietly disappear!

But that was the thing! It was Gogeta, notorious for doing the opposite of her wishes. It was he who fought this Broly man 3 days ago and brought most of the city to rubble. And ruined the Detective Agency's neutrality, all with a sip of wine she carelessly left out, betraying her own words to herself about keeping close watch on him. She verbally assumed responsibility of him--  but the truth was she had done nothing but lick her own wounds. Instead, she idly let the others begrudgingly do what they never intended to fulfill on her behalf, the way a slothful fool would do. Could it all have been prevented if she didn't decide to drown the foreign burning tug from before-- worry-- in the potent alcohol? Maybe. There'd probably still be a city to stand in. But was there any real benefit to one less "could've" on her lengthening list that just grew in severity? What would one more incident matter? But that too, would betray her own words once more. And that feeling would continue its oppressive weight on her.

"It's all... been on me..."

As she pondered deeply with her mind at odds with itself, Bernkastel's body was on autopilot. In seconds, she was heading out of the doorway, still with a sour look on her face staring straight ahead. Wordlessly jumping over the side railing of the apartment, she began flying out into the air with her eyes scanning for Gogeta's silhouette in the city, knowing he wouldn't go far, before hearing a raucous chorus of glass shattering upon detection of a great force blowing from one direction. Gritting her teeth, she sailed towards it like a comet.

"Don't wait for the police to get here, you impudent wimps!" Bernkastel shouted at the scattering crowd, holding her arms out with magic circles forming to break the falls of whoever was in her line of sight and hadn't been reduced to coins yet, their impact breaking the circles and letting them plop to the ground. They'd be likely injured somewhat, but they'd live.

"GOGETA, just calm down!" She shouted as she descended closer, looking like she was almost unsure about presenting herself before the public and the fusion himself. "Who's trying to kill you?! What's possessed you so violently?!" Cautiously, she remained hovering in midair.

Brachi sighed as she watched this all going on.

"What a mess this all is..." She said, being happy that she was not involved in any of Gogeta's antics of three days ago, instead having kept herself to herself... "and now being labeled a villain on top of all of it, huh? I guess this is what happens when people jump to conclusions... without seeing the bigger picture..."

She sighed at this as she continued on cooking, wondering if she should follow Vegetto's example and leave the Breakers on her own terms and find her own way out of this mess, perhaps finding a way to reach out to the others still...
