Whis stifled a small chuckle, one hand covering his mouth in a small giggle while the other lightly tapped onto Raune's extended hand to complete the high five.
"Yes, well, the demonstration was to show you that in actuality, your trap was not inescapable."
His normal, flat expression returned along with his voice.
"You see, while I had spent more time dodging your attacks than countering, I did manage to outright dispel a couple of your clones when I switched to offensive strikes."
He broke out into a smile once more.
"It was your confidence in your strategy to trap me that led to your miscalculation. Had this been a real match where I was attempting to kill you instead of merely avoiding your hits, we would not be having this conversation."
The taller angel began to walk to the side, gripping onto the key the Lich gave him as he moved towards Brachi, Majin Bara, and Gervene.
"The aspect of combat I used, Ultra Instinct, allows my body to move and react to opposing forces without my mind having to tell those parts to move. While my speed was still slower as a whole, the ability for my body to react without having to waste time thinking about countering your movements gave me the ability to avoid almost every attack. However, with your trap, I was presented with a dilemma where I was limited by the size of my form."
Whis stopped mid way, blocking the other three's movements before they could move off to train.
"Thanks to an old friend's technique known as Instant Transmission, I was able to dematerialize my body down to the very molecule, and move towards a target of my choice at speeds that were close to yours. It took a substantial drain on my stamina, but thanks to Ultra Instinct, I was able to weave through your trap because even my molecules reacted and evaded your trap for themselves."
He held up an arm, turning his head towards Gervene, Brachi, and Majin Bara.
"Hold a moment you three, we are about to begin the actual training. You have spent quite a great deal of time learning how to work off one another, but your efforts prove you lack any respect for those you are not familiar with."
Whis narrowed his eyes slightly at Brachi.
"Regardless of both your opponent and potential ally, you lept into the middle of an ongoing fight with a level of power that was immensely inferior to the speeds displayed. It took everything in my power not to kill you with that strike, seeing as the effort I had to use to effectively counter Raune's speed pushed me very well. Had Raune made any miscalculations or made a mistake with his own positioning, you would have surely been killed by the resulting shockwave."
His head perked slightly.
"Now, in order to further this building of teamwork between you all, we will begin the training as a unified group. Once we arrive at the new location, I will split you up in pairs to work on pushing each other appropriately to reach new heights in sparring matches."
Whis kept his smile.
"Once I am satisfied with your progress, we will begin the final stage of my training. Bernkastel will resume her trials for you if you manage to finish that phase. With that being said, are there any questions before we begin?"
