The ghouls unable to move out of the way of the hanmer and swords immediately were promptly destroyed, while the ones that suffered less damage dissipated and reappeared wholly once more.

The ghouls around Z were stunned from the fire, but not long enough to be unable to retaliate, swiping their long claws at her again while screeching again.

More began forming from the safety of the shadows. Vala's arms were becoming sore from the swinging of her staff.

"If we force them out from hiding, they won't have a place to hide!" Vala pointed to Gold. "Aim the light energy with me at the trees' shadows!" She dug a circle into the ground around her and began to chant under her breath to use a stronger attack similar to the flashing spell she used on the Reliquary.

Using light to remove any form of shadows so they won't reform? That a great idea..! Excalik thought. He was getting tired of slashing them, only for a few to keep on reforming.

Z-Clone blocked the claws with her pencil but due to her small size, she easily got swiped away. She hit the floor but didn't show any signs of pain since her face was so glued to one expression. She was, however, in pain. She floated back up into the air and attempted to stab the shadows with her fire lit pencil. Her spear techniques were rather impressive.

"En Garde~!

The ghouls surroinding Z continued to parry their claws with her pencil, shrieking in frustration.

"Get ready to cover your eyes then!" Vala stayed in her place, using her staff as the Z clone was to try and resist their attacks to maintain focus.

The raven remained perched and continued watching them, unmoving as they fought the ghouls.

Excalik covered his eyes by tipping his straw hat.

Z-Clone took this chance to float back, blocking off the final attack the shadows made to her tiny body. She couldn't close her eyes so she had to cover them, leaving her wide open for a moment.

"Now!" Vala recited the chant once more and her staff became brighter and brighter, engulfing the courtyard in the bright light, diminishing any of the shadows the ghouls used to recover and hide in. The horde of ghouls shrieked and hissed in panic, covering their eyes in pain of the bright flash.

"Now's your chance!" She said to the group.
