"I was just curious!" Excalik responded to Vala. "I was practically dead for a while. Might as well ask for what's current now." Excalik rubbed his chin when Sister Mary requested for them to follow her. "I thought nuns are the servant of gods and bring grace to the people? Why would these old ladies store tools?"

"I am a monster but as for my origins..." Gorecilia thought silently as she Excalik. Her snakes inched closer to the man, tasting the air around him. "Well... I come from a forest that houses many bodies I buried. My, I can't even remember how many bodies I left in that forest~"

Gorecilia chuckled at her comment and seemed oblivious that she spoke of death in the house of God.

The nun escorted Allein to the Priestess's chamber. "Do your friends know of what it is you are about to do?" She asked cryptically.

====

"Wherever you're from, keep your creepy hobbies away from me," Vala muttered as they walked.

"Of course we serve the gods o' this land! What we've got locked up aren't some tools o' torture, lad," Sister Mary objected indignantly. "Look around ye'. We're in a continent that lives by the rule o' No Man's Lands. But for Grimsby, the problem never was humans tryin' te take us over-- but monsters and Deimos... where they came from is anyone's guess. But I lived through it, and so did the late Simon. He was our savin' grace, drivin' out the beasts back to where they came. Simon an' I worked tiredlessly te' come up with blessed items that would aid his strength. That was many decades ago, and we've lived in quiet peace until now.  The chambers house what we left behind."

Sister Mary strangely didn't look nearly as old as what the late Belmont probably would have been. She led the remaining group to the Chamber doors, and brushed her hand over the wrought iron. Symbols and runes glowed on the doors before they opened up. "Never thought that I'd be usin' 'em again after so many years."

"Never thought you'd be a badass granny." Vala said with raised eyebrows.

"Granny!? I ought te' drown ye' in holy water for that!"

Allein shook her head "No, and I'd like it to stay that way."

"Ah, I see..." Excalik could not shake off this odd feeling for this monster. Mainly because of this monster, unlike most monsters, seems to be friendly with humans. However, her statement about the bodies gave him a rather unsettling feeling.

"Yeah, I know that feeling... I live on the Eastern Side, so we often get raided by hooligans. It's one of the reasons why I sought to join a guild, to help out the little man. Though, monsters and Deimos? Man, those things are always nothing but trouble..." He turns to Gorecilia. "No offense." He turns to Sir Mary, seeing her opened the door. "Wow, you're no joke, granny!"

"Ohohohoo~! No worries young man." Gorecilia laughed at Excalik while placing an icy cold hand on top his head. Either she was cold from being outside or she was very cold blooded behind her adorable and girly stature. "I am more civilized than the runts in the East. My, I remember feeding my girls the body of a Deimos as it squealed for mercy in the amidst of the pain~ The screams were almost like music to my ears so I went out to slaughter another~! Isn't that right girls?"

Gorecilia petted her snake hair who seemed to hiss in agreement.

"Yes, such wonderful times I spent in my youth. Now I knit clothes and other things for smaller creatures, like Lord Belmont's lovely scarf~!"

"Very well, lass." The nun closed the door once she let Allein enter the room, departing to attend to her other duties.

======

"Keep callin' me Granny, and I'll 'ave yer bum mounted on me fireplace as a totem." Sister Mary threatened flatly.

The room brandished a wide range of items... One section of the wall had a wide range of whips hanging on it, most likely for the fact each kind had different effects. The other side displayed all sorts of swords and knives.

"Lord Belmont may trust ye' lot, but I've got to protect these items too. So take only what ye' need; I can't let ye' use Simon's best of the best seein' that the Vampire Killer is out on te' loose. These should suffice for dealin' with a necromancer... but for the likes of which I've never seen, I'm not sure which could be most effective for her. So choose wisely. Take as much holy water as ye' need." Sister Mary advised.

"Vampire Killer?" Vala questions.

"Aye. It was te' name granted to Simon's legendary whip that's been passed down the family. So powerful a whip against the supernatural, it could perhaps kill the Grim Reaper himself..." Sister Mary answers. "It's slain countless creatures. The manor was where the family heirloom was kept. No doubt the necromancer had taken it for herself... I can only imagine te' worst is to come."

You take a look around for items you would be allowed to borrow in preparation for the upcoming battle... among the endless choices, these catch the eye the most:

  • Rose Stem Whip - A thorned whip that requires great skill to use.
  • Undead Killer - A holy whip that can kill even the undead.
  • Beast Hunter Whip -  Crafted using wild animal skins lashed with metal studding, the whip can be used to damage and kill enemies. It is flexible and hard enough to crack armor, strangle, and shred exposed limbs.
  • Gladius - an ancient sword.
  • Garian Sword - a flexible, articulated sword made for executions.
  • Dynamite - A bomb is thrown far in an arcing pattern and explodes into flames when it touches the ground.
  • Magical Nitro -- a powerful explosive item. Can be used to destroy walls that have cracks in them. However, it is a highly volatile substance, and will explode quickly if subjected to sudden movements (shaking bottle vigorously) or exposed to water.
  • Bottle of Holy Fire -- The bottle breaks on impact and holy flames are released upwards. Flames dissipate quickly. Can be used as a Molotov.
  • Bottle of Holy water -- can be used to splash on one enemy or unleash a wave of holy water that travels across the floor that can potentially damage many enemies and requires less precision at the cost of a lower damage.
  • Crimson Water - Crimson water of unknown origin. Greatly restores HP and spell uses.
  • Numbing Mist - thrown with precision to unleash a spreading mist. Targets hit cannot regain HP.
  • Blood of Arianna - Restores HP and temporarily boosts Stamina recovery speed.
  • Blood Vial - Restores health.
  • Toxic Vial - contains venom of mixed origins. Apply to bladed weapons in order to deal poison damage.

Allein sat in the middle of the floor and began meditating. She needed to get to the center of the chain soon.

"S-sorry, ma'am," Excalik said, making sure to watch his tone. "If a weapon can be given a name like that, it's definitely something to not shrug it off." He looked around, checking out the collection of weapons presented to them. After browsing, several things came to mind, but could not decide which one he wants to take. He turns to Sister Mary. "Would it be alright if we can take more than one?"

"I s'pose it can't hurt if ye' take more than one weapon with ye'. Just be sure to bring it back in the condition you found it. Or else," Sister Mary warned tersely.

"Yeah. There's a lot of weapons to choose from. All of us should at least carry one of those health potions just in case," Vala said before reaching out to one of the whips before pausing. "You know, if that Necromancer lady manages to resurrect Simon Belmont, what would we do? We can't just turn him into mince meat... He's that guy's grandpa after all."

"Aye. It would be preferable that he returns to the Earth the same way he was buried. The resurrected are at the mercy of whomever manages to do it. They will not surrender until they're unable to move. Your best plan of action is to physically restrain him or keep him at a distance with the Holy Fire. Keep in mind that you may be fighting a husk that has only the muscle memory of the man who once possessed it. Simon fought to his last breath in life. He will do so in death; even if his soul isn't in there." Sister Mary's tone was melancholic.

"... I'll carry some bottles and a whip. The Undead Killer might be easier for me to use than the other ones." Vala offers.
