"Of all the things you'd ask about, you're worrying about the giant talking spider?" Vala asked Excalik with a furrowed brow.
"It'll be alright. The church used to be the only safe place from malevolence way back in the day," Lord Belmont said as they entered. People huddled around the altar turned towards the sudden noises, expressing a mixture of shock and relief.
"Lord Belmont! You're alive!" Ivan the servant cried, running toward him and throwing his arms around the Lord. "They brought you back!"
"I'm relieved to see you are well too, Ivan," Belmont chuckled with relief before looking confused. "Who's they?"
"Ah! The people you're accompanied by right now, my Lord. I sent a letter out asking the Crescent Hunters Guild to help recover you. I stayed here to meet them several hours ago... we thought the worst had happened." Ivan explained.
"You did well, Ivan. I assume any of the other servants here are the ones fortunate enough to have escaped the monsters?" Belmont asked, to which his servant nodded. "I see..."
"Seeing as you've got a monster with ye' and your lot looks rather roughed up, you've got a lot o' explaining to do." Sister Mary, surrounded by an entourage of nuns, approached the group. They each held a bottle of holy water.
"Ah, y-yes..." Lord Belmont proceeded to explain why he brought his group with him to the church, and about the necromancer. "I'm afraid that what she explained is past my grasp of understanding, but I know enough that she plans to resurrect Grandfather Simon and make him to her dirty work to take over the lands..."
"So that's why ye've come 'ere then." The woman said gruffly. "You need my help."
"Not me, but the ones who came here and risked their lives for me do. I need to stay here and keep what little order is left, and evacuate anyone still in their homes." Belmont objected. "They need the same stuff you let Grandpa Simon hold onto."
Sister Mary looked at the group apprehensively before sighing. "Alright, follow me down to the chambers then. We don't keep any of the emergency tools out here in the open." She allowed the nuns to depart and do their hourly sweep of the church perimeter from inside.
