The small ghost beckoned Vala and Excalik, cooing in an echoed voice.

"...." Vala wasn't sure whether or not to follow it.

Scratching noises occurred around Gold and Z, with no certain direction. One couldn't tell if it came from within the walls or not, but something definitely had been resting within the basement up until their arrival.

Bats flew about where Allein was, perching from one of the chandeliers lining the hall. They seemed to be resting or gathering.
 
"Sir Gold, I do believe we might be surrounded~" Z-Clone said with no emotion. "We could die here~ Please be careful, Sir Gold~"

Z-Clone lowered her head and took a deep breath. She began to glow only slightly. She was gathering energy so she can help Gold out. Her eyes turned white and began to glow. From the looks of it, the Z-Clone loved this feeling.

"Hohoho..~!"
 
"Conserve your energy Z, us Paladins do not go down easily." Gold said. "If anything wants to attack me, I have a number of tricks up my sleeve."
 
Allein looked around and saw them then fired demon blasts from her fingers at them.

"W-we might as well follow it. It cou-could lead us to our clue." Excalik explained.
 
"As you wish, Sir Gold~! Hohohooo~!"

As the clone was gathering energy, it made her wide open for any attack. Her body continued to glow from the inside of the jar she was hiding in. Her clothes and hair began to float and wave around as she collected energy to not disappear.

"Hooohoho~! Please keep an eye on me, Sir Gold~! Should any attack strike me, I will need to start all over again~"
 
Arlen was trailing behind Allein, his flashlight turned on. He saw her shoot demonic blasts at the bats and jumped a bit, since he wasn't used to working with -- or against -- the supernatural.

"I don't like this.. Not one bit." He muttered to himself.
 
"Right." Vala moved forward towards the little wisp, hearing it coo and float through the dining hall, making loops around objects.

"My my! Hasty aren't we?" The bats that weren't hit by Allein's attack scattered and reappeared around the figure across them in the hall. "I got bored of hiding like the other monsters so I decided to come out and play with you both!" The figure belonged to a female sporting bat wings, though she grimaced at Allein and Arlen. "And you go on and hurt my pets! So we'll make you pay for that!"

As soon as she said that, the flames of the chandeliers sizzled out, leaving the hall in darkness.

Claws tapped against the cement floor, the sound of growling belonging to some strange black furred animal that was unidentifiable; it looked to be a bear and a wolf that somehow meshed together.

Its growling grew to a loud snarl, rattling the items nearby.
 
Allein sighed "Great, up against a vampire. I so did not need this today." She got ready and closed her eyes to listen for the bats.
