"I should know. The forces where I came from refused to allow my existence without installing a counter measure. Ultima, my light brother and equal in many ways. Not to mention how I came into existence at the cost of four fine men and warriors." Atama replied.

Future Xenest nodded, before a Martian came to them.

"Everything is ready for departure." It said.

"Good. I trust the ship has been repaired for the most part?" Future Xenest asked.

"Yes. All systems report nominal. We've had additional teams helping on repairs while in orbit of Earth and Shenron must have fixed what remained of the damage with the wish you used." The Martian said.

"Well then, set course for the planet Deliani, maximum warp." Future Xenest said, nodding.

"Co-ordinates for the planet Deliani have been set, course laid in, sir. The respective captains of our active escort vessels acknowledge you as the Commander of the fleet and await your command." The Martian Helm said.

"Comm, order our escorts to form up. Helm, engage Cloaking Device and proceed to our destination." Future Xenest said, marking the beginning of their mission.

"Message understood. Escorts are reporting all systems nominal and are engaging their Cloaking Devices as well. We have one Heavy Battle Cruiser, Two Command Cruisers and two Battle Cruisers serving as our escorts for the time being." The Martian replied.

"Good. Make sure we do not antagonize any of the population of the planets we're going to (re)visit. We'll just do our investigations, potentially ask for clues and be done with it. Only when they attack us first will we strike back in self-defense." Future Xenest said.

"Complying." The Martian replied as the group of six starships went on their way towards the planet Deliani.

"Right. I only hope they are still alive though; if they truly are gone, we may not be able to resurrect everyone as Shenron can't resurrect those he had resurrected before... only Porunga may be the solution, but I don't want to bother the Namekians with our plights... Both Dread Master Bestia and the Martians themselves have told us we shouldn't rely on the Dragon Balls all the time and although we have done our best to do exactly that..." Future Xenest lamented, sighing deeply.

"So, you've been using these orbs to solve your problems. If you have done your best yet still rely upon them, perhaps it's not your nature, but the nature of the threats you face?" Atama replied.

"That it is. There have been way too many powerful villains we have faced which resulted in unwanted casualties, we only wish to give those people whom unfortunately perished a second chance at life. There have been some occasions where we didn't need the Dragon Balls as we did manage to solve those incidents under our own power, but still..." Future Xenest said.

"It's like... Death doesn't matter anymore." Atama said. "Yet it's obvious that death does still matter. This leads to the question then. Your primary fear is death, so how do you avoid it?"

"It isn't death which I fear the most," Future Xenest said, "I've gotten over that fear many years ago, especially after what that bastard did to my wife and I... in fact, at times I felt that I WANTED to die, if only to be with my loved ones, yet the destruction of Other Worlds ruined that chance, not to mention their souls being contained and through that unreachable by the Dread Masters.... No... my biggest fear is to lose everyone and everything I hold dear... my family, my friends... to be able to live on while being unable to see them, hold them... and do many other things with them at my side... especially when having fought so hard and valiantly to get them back... it is why I continue to train, not just to ensure I keep my body strong enough to contain the power I possess, but mostly to preserve that what I have and to protect those I care about. Not even Death itself will be able to stop me from ensuring their safety."

Atama nodded in reply to Future Xenest.

"You fear losing what you have, so you struggle to keep it, yet you are still stand to lose so much. A shame, really, it seems to be your mortal weakness. Yet if you no longer are weak to it, you lose your humanity."

"To be fair, I was quite close to losing it when my children and my most dearest friends had been slaughtered by that madman, leaving only my wife and me alive. It's because of this that I eventually 'gained' what is now known as a Berserker form, yet from observations it can be safe to say that I hold still a level of consciousness and humanity enough to identify who my friends, allies and my targets are. It's also my wife whom has held my last link to my sanity and humanity for so long... had she perished too... then I would have truly lost it completely..." Future Xenest replied, pausing briefly, "the only irony, as sad as it may be, is that with the counterparts of my wife and myself, the roles are technically reversed; my counterpart is the more sensible being, while the counterpart of my wife has had her own moments where she went berserk against her targets... my wife has had some of those moments too, but 'Present' Brachi has been observed being quite pissed at a group of fellow multiverse travelers for apparently ditching her during a battle of which its end result was a phyrric victory for the enemy... regrettably, Brachi herself was killed in the aftermath of that very battle..."
