The Reality Vortex: New Roads

“And let’s say we can somehow use the coins. Where we going get Vortex Coins aside from Cross’ men? We’re gonna start knocking heads until we get a good one? That’s very dark…” Lucifer chuckled. “Didn’t know you guys were this kind of group.” Joking aside, Lucifer addressed this. “The Coin Hunter seemingly is using some kind of gauntlet device in order to draw out the power of the Vortex Coins. As far as I’m aware, we have no idea how such progress is made.”

Gogeta frowned in response to Spina.

"What did I do? Everyone else is starting the fights: I'm just getting out there and finishing the job. Ultraman was trying to kill us!"

Panich frowned as she saw Cuki in such despair. She wanted to offer a sympathetic hand but decided against it. It seemed Spina and Lucifer had that covered. Her eyes widened in a bit of annoyed surprise at Gogeta's whining.

"Excuse me! While I take full responsibility for my recklessness when chasing the blank-faced hooligan and provoking the Ultrafool, are you forgetting your complete disregard for my and Hart's life? You nearly turned us into coins as well!" The princess retorted, crossing her arms and facing the fusion. "Finishing the job my ass! Your brain completely shuts off during a fight! Not to mention you have the attention span of a bird! So don't go acting surprised like you had no fault in this."

Cuki listened to Spina and sighed under her breath. She thought she was jumping to conclusions but all she could think about is her master. She wondered where the Coin Hunter was and what he was doing with so many coins. Although Spina's words stung a little bit, she seemed to listen to when Lucifer explained the number of coins the Coin Hunter might have. She wiped away her tears and stared silently at the floor, trying her best to think and clear her mind.

Spina is right, I shouldn't cry over things like this. I need to calm down and gather my thoughts. Cuki took several deep breaths and focused primarily on the Coin Hunter. So the Coin Hunter has many tricks up his sleeves... It's not Zenta's ability we should worry about but how quickly the Coin Hunter can change between his coins. Cuki sniffled before hugging her knees closer and biting her thumb as she tried to focus without breaking into tears. We need to find out how the Coin Hunter switches his coins...

After a couple of minutes thinking, Cuki let out a sigh, finally relaxing enough to not break down into tears. At least she's calmed down enough to come back to her senses.

"I think... I think we need to figure out how the Coin Hunter switches his coins. There has to be some sort of sign he's about to switch, right? If we can find that sign, then we can better prepare ourselves. Thing is... even if we knew, in our current condition, none of us are going to get far."

Cuki hopped off the sofa and plopped on her feet. Despite the harsh tone with Spina, she seemed to appreciate the small push he gave her, even if that was no his intention. She seemed to feel a little better, judging by how confident she seemed to be. She immediately glanced towards Gogeta with cold eyes before moving down and picking out something from under the sofa. A first-aid kit she kept nearby and the same one she used on Spina when they first arrived.

"But before we even start any sort of training, the least we should do is patch each other up first. I'm sure Cross' magic will help but I think even he needs time to recover too," Cuki approached Gogeta opened her first aid kit. "First we gotta patch up the strongest and cutest one of the group. I don't think I've ever wanted to kiss anymore more than you!"

Cuki carefully lifted Kitty-Bern from Gogeta's lap. She gently placed the cat on her lap and scratched her ear before lifting up her paw and placing a bandage on her fuzzy arm. She placed the bandages on all her legs, making it appear as if the cat had socks similar to her human form. Cuki even did Bernkastel a favor and brushed out the scruffed up fur on her body as best she could. Lastly, she placed a few bandages around Kitty-Bern's neck and wrapped it into a nice bow.

"I don't know how long kitties take to heal, but you'll be on a strict diet of tuna and milk until you get back to normal, Bernkastel." Cuki seemed to cheer up, for the most part, it appears that felines hit a soft spot for her. No doubt since she practically almost looks like one. "Kitty, kitty, kitty!"

Cross says to the Panch "Just learn form your errors and avoid them in the future."

Cross says "If my hunch is on the mark we know more coins than what was shone; Demi-fiend and any other known victims odds are they are being used."

Cross thinks "good Cuki is back to normal."

Bernkastel examined her improvised accessories Cuki had given her with big pupils in her purple eyes, looking over herself with a satisfied purring. Her tail swished happily, since she now had two cute bows just like before and felt much more presentable. It was still slightly embarrassing to be stuck as a cat for a short while, but she had forgotten how nice it felt to be handled gently. Of course, she liked playing hard to get much of the time when Lambdadelta was around, but that made her take her boisterous forms of affection for granted.

Bern let out a little yawn but chirped a bit more. "Last time didn't take very long, but that was because I didn't have my energy completely blocked off. But you know, salmon is my favorite..." She relaxed herself into Cuki's lap like a little cat-loaf. "without my wine though, it isn't as delicious... raw tuna it is, I suppose." She stuck her tongue out since the idea of going on a kitten's diet wasn't very fun. A thousand year old girl should get to eat adult things!

That aside, she thought things over about possible actions they could take once they'd recover. They were probably rusty after 3 whole years of inactivity, but they could spend a thousand years training and not be able to get around the Coin Hunter's seemingly impermeable defenses. "That strange gauntlet looked too protected to be physically damaged... He could have made it or had someone else do it, but he cleverly played things out so that if we'd be bold enough to snoop around that side of the city for answers again, it would look like we were taking things out on 'weak civilians'. Nobody else would believe us, let alone be on our side after what we did to Ultraman. Except one person and we can't find him..." The only positive would be that nobody would bother them anymore in the mornings, so less distractions meant they could try and improve the odds in their favor. Even curbing Gogeta's overly aggressive battle tendencies would help. Bern eyed his newly grown tail curiously, watching it for movements like she wanted to smack at it with her paws.

Gogeta kept his frown on staring back at Panich. He shrunk a bit in the face of her frustration, but he soon snapped into a small, cocky scowl in tandem with how his counterpart would act without the anger. Instead, he held a supreme confidence and genuinely spoken tone in his words.

“Oh c’mon, you’re stronger than that! It would’ve all been fine! Besides, that woman was the enemy; she wouldn’t tell us anything no matter how nicely everyone asked!”

He then blinked a bit at Bernkastel’s lamentation of strategy, before perking his eyebrows.

“Well, then why don’t we go find this guy you’re talking about?”

After hearing Gogeta’s response to Panich, he’d remember what Lucifer said about “if people cannot follow, make them fall in line.” Spina walked towards the couch, ignoring the casual conversation Cuki started and lifted Gogeta off the ground from his shirt collar.

“Listen you damn fool. You clearly do not understand the concept of a battle. Because of you, we got another negative stigma spun out of control because you don’t know when you quit. You like beating someone down to the point that they’re no longer able? You talk about the enjoyment of fighting, but all I see before my eyes is a man who plants the seeds of destruction in his wake; and we’re left with dealing the consequences of your damn actions.” Spina’s voice was stern, rough and a hint of anger. “If you do not change that mindset of yours, I’ll put you down personally.” Spina dropped Gogeta down and walked away.

“Cross and Bernkastel are on to something. We need to find a way to prevent him from changing coins, but our speed needs some work.” Spina turned his head slightly to Gogeta. “And just to make sure that mindset is changed, I’ll be personally giving you some training to straighten you out. You keep going on and on about Super Saiyan 4. I can provide such knowledge, but here in the training area tomorrow morning. Don’t be late.” Spina walked away, heading towards his room to get some more rest. He doesn’t want to be patched up offered by Cuki since he was in a bad mood.

Lucifer rubbed his chin. “Well, that was quite intense.” He looked at the floor where Spina took and noticed that he left several cracks. “For now, I think patching and some rest is in order. Please, someone fetch me some wine. I’m dying of thirst here.”

Gogeta blinked in confusion as Spina practically ragdolled him by his vest collar. He held a heavy frown throughout Spina's scolding, being dropped in processing the firm warning. However, once he was dropped back onto the couch, he perked his head at Spina's mention of training, especially at the term, "Super Saiyan 4".

What momentary solemn stare or regret the man had on his expression had vanished, Gogeta nearly squealing in delight in flopping a bit on the couch.

"Oh boy! You got it: I'll be there!!"
