The Reality Vortex: New Roads

Cross says "Coin hunter first then we should decide how we want to decided to deal with the after math of the Ultraman. The second one will be self resolving but I rather it be resolved more definitively than that."

"Well, I'm glad you're still so chipper considering you have no self-control and almost got yourself killed," Panich replied to Gogeta sarcastically as the Breakers were set up around the living space like a bunch of hospital patients. "You're a painful reminder of someone I use to knew."

Her thoughts floated her mind to before this whole thing, thinking of none other than the champion of earth, Son Goku himself. Like Gogeta, no matter how bad he had been banged up, he was always so excited to have faced a challenger stronger than him. It was unbearable at the time but having the nostalgic feeling resurface made her smile briefly. But then her attention was brought back to reality as the other Breakers began popping back up. As Slayer was the first to awake, she exhaled deeply and replied with a simple, "Yes."

She then felt a pang of uneasy guilt befall her as the broadcast interrupted the regularly scheduled program. While she could live with a few thousand people hating her, she knew the Breakers may not take too kindly to hearing their reputation had been tarnished by a couple of unruly rookies. Especially after having their asses handed to them by the very enemy they had been searching for. She pushed her mind passed that and turned to Spina and held the card that the hunter left out to him.

"He's gone. And he left this in hopes that he could see us again."

Gogeta turned his eyes towards Cuki throughout her sadness, frowning for a moment as well. However, his head lifted a bit and turned to Panich at her comment, his eyebrow raising for a moment in confusion.

"Oh yeah? Who?"

He then glanced a bit around the room, his attention turning away from the television as the commercial break started. The tarnished name of the Breakers seemed to do very little to Gogeta's mood: the fusion held the same expression throughout the entire revelation of the population's newly solidified distaste. He grimaced a bit, his dual voice ringing out with a near whining in his tone.

"Unngh...can any of you do some healing things? My arms are killing me!"

Spina struggled to lift his hand and took the card given by Panich. “…Damn that bastard. Managed to escape and took the Vortex Coin.” His voice cracked under anger, especially since Cuki will definitely take the hardest. The loss of her master is a heavy toll, along with this lost. After hearing Gogeta complained about his arms, he'd remember that Cuki was the one that did the deed. "Probably should not tell him that..." The old Saiyan stared at the card, seeing the giant letter L imprinted on the top side and didn’t checked the bottom. “L? What the hell does that mean?”

Bernkastel feebly poked at Gogeta's shoulder-- his bones were definitely nothing short of disintegrated inside noodly flesh. "I'd gladly do it if it'd keep your whingeing to a minimum, but there's no way I can use any magic, let alone look human. Probably not for a few hours at best. Not that it would help matters." She uttered her thoughts with her ears flat against her head. She seemed annoyed about their tarnished reputation, but it was practically miniscule compared to the concern of a literal terror running amok. No wonder the Coin Hunter had so many-- he's using the best of the best to cheat! For none of them to end up Coins themselves was either an act of mercy on his behalf or nothing short of pure luck. Probably a bit of both.

"He left us... an L? What does that mean!" She demanded, letting out a frustrated yowl again. "I do not know what it quite means, but I am compelled to feel insulted by it! He's going to regret it!" Bern huffed before slumping over in her perched position on the couch. "... once we figure out how. But we're stuck like this... like a couple of... losers."

Panich grumbled slightly and snatched the card, turning it over to the backside for Spina.

"This." She said with an annoyed tone in her voice.

Gogeta grimaced, yelping loudly and fidgeting in his seat from Bernkastel's touch. He blinked with wide eyes, glancing around for a moment in not realizing that Bernkastel's telepathic message came from her true form, and grinned up towards the ceiling.

"Oh, ok thanks Burn Castle! I'll just get comfy here."

He turned his head to the black cat, grinning a bit and completely oblivious to the fact that Bernkastel was the cat.

"Hey little buddy, don't poke me there! That hurts!"

Gogeta kept his grin, leaning his head forward and nuzzling Bernkastel's nose and attempting to smother his right cheek down on the top of her head in an attempt to pet her.

"You're cute! Do you wanna sit in my lap until the strongest Breaker can heal my arms up?"

Cross casts a healing spell on Gogeta and thinks "I going to have let the kids chose."

Cuki's emotionless stare continued for a few minutes, almost as if she was trying to understand everything that happened. The name of the Breakers being tarnished seemed like an afterthought for Cuki, mostly because she did not pay attention. She wondered about Zenta, worried about how the Coin Hunter would treat him, but her body refused to move. By the time everyone started to recover and gain their senses from the battle, so did Cuki. Although her body still hurt, she managed to pull her knees to her chest and bury her face within them. Her body started to quiver until soft sniffling noises started to come from her.

"I lost... him." Cuki cried to herself while she tried not to alert the others. It was hard on her since all she ever remembered was her Master. "Don't... go..."

However, no matter how hard Cuki tried to contain herself, she pulled her head back suddenly and let out a painful cry as tears rolled down her cheek. Someone as young as she was not mature enough to hold in all her emotions, at least not compared to the others. Like a child, she pressed her hands against her eyes, trying her best to wipe away the tears and not cry in front of the others. Sadly, she could not hold back any tears, still too young to hide her emotions and weaknesses.

"Z-Zentaaa! Zentaaa!" Cuki sobbed while curling up. "I-I want-- I wasn't strong enough! I-- Zentaaa!"

Spina blushed a bit; from embarrassment and irritation that he didn’t see that. “Ah, yeah.”

Seeing the back of the card, there was a message to the Breakers, along with written instructions for them to follow.

Coin Hunter said:
“Breakers, you have suffered your first loss in 3 or so years; this is just the beginning of your eventual downfall of the destruction you have caused us. I, the Coin Hunter, is issuing a challenge for you to redeem yourselves in this humiliation. In 2 weeks’, time, we shall battle once again in the Valley of Black Crystals, near the outskirts of the Metropolis. I’ll be looking forward of defeating you again and taking your coins as trophies. If you do not show up, I will come to you and force your hand. Do not be late. In the meanwhile, enjoy that L.”

“He’s issuing out a challenge.” Spina said. “This bastard is mocking us.”

“So, the Coin Hunter sought to bring you down a peg.” Lucifer said, finally waking up from the attack; however, his tone was much younger than previous, along with his appearance of that a child. “Especially at the Black Crystals? He took the Zenta Coin and went after to find the Doom coin. I guess the Bara coin wasn’t part of his interest then.” Lucifer rubbed his chin. “It seems that the Coin Hunter has some personal beef with you too… did you pissed someone off in the past?”

“Not that I know of…I can’t remember every single guy that comes screaming in our front yard.” Spina narrowed his eyes, looking at child Lucifer. “Uh, what the hell happened to you?”

“Hmm? Oh, when my energy got shattered, I’m unable to maintain my true form, so I’m reduced to a form of a child. Don’t worry about it, once my energy replenished once again, I’ll be able to return to my adult forme.” Lucifer addressed, sitting next to Cuki and Gogeta. He was vastly shorter than even Cuki in terms of height. “Hey Cuki, don't let your emotions take over. We haven’t got counted out yet. Crying won’t make things better; it just stray us from our path. Let's put that energy to getting stronger and beat that guy. We'll get that coin back.” Lucifer didn't know anything about Zenta, but considering Cuki's reactions, it clearly meant a lot to her. Turning to Spina in hopes of some answers and what to do next. “So, Spina, what’s our option?”

“Nothing. We can't rush out there like this. And we don’t know how the hell we can counter… whatever Coin Hunter did use Zenta’s attack.” Spina said. “Our best option is to wait and see if we can figure out a way to counter that. I’ll try to think of something… ” Spina stared at the ground seeing Cuki reacted at such a manner, clenching his fist. “I’ll think of something.”
