Yes, that would be beneficial to do so, and give exposure of what is to be expected of the redraws and other competitions that comes in the future. I'll post a selected competitions as an example to post on the Twitter (those with higher turn-out) before posting the Frosty one by the end of the day. Just need to purge my personal twitter since I have no need for it.

I'm happy to introduce a new section (well, I re-branded one of the dead sections of BGV and relaunched it as new), Progress Journals. This is a section where all members can create a tracking and progress thread, to update their progression on whatever goal they wish to complete (writing, art pieces, fitness, etc.) or accomplished and the sort. This engagement allows members to feel motivated to complete their goals with people's encouragement and keeping tabs on what you are supposed to do.

I'm also happy to announce that a new thing for forum, known as Sketchuary. Jaz went ahead and made a logo for such month-long event:

qM1DCKH.jpg

Effectively, starting tomorrow (an thread will be created), members will do a sketch everyday (or make a sketch and work your way to complete it throughout the month) until the end of the month. This to start off the new year with new projects, new WIP and the sort... to give a sense of encouragement to leave last year behind and start off anew.

I've been struggling out of the pit of non-productivity for the last half of the year so I'll be looking forward to Sketchuary to help me get out of my funk lol

Progress Journal's an interesting concept as well.

Yeah, the purpose of Sketchuary is effectively doing sketches, regardless of size. For example, I can make a sketch of Magikarp, then tomorrow, I'll do a sketch of a tree outside of my house. It's essentially help you draw things from anything and post them in the thread everyday. At the end of the month, you will have 31 sketch pieces, something that you can complete later on in the future :)

I made a post in the sketchuary thread, so check it out! And please retweet it for more exposure.

Yes. I made an thread to be seen as an example of a "progression thread" :)

Greetings,

I’m right around 90% done with all the updates of the forum, so I want to bring everyone’s attention on certain things I’ve added, improved on and revamped.

First, I’ve updated the BGC Rules and renamed it as BGC Policy and Guidelines. They are brief, but important information of what’s expected of the forum. As years passed, I think it was high time to ensure the website has a policy that is consistent, easy to understand and more importantly, easy to read through without huge amount of texts. I’ve covered all major bases regarding the website, including emphasized on Mature Content. Just to showcase an example of what I mean:

By default, all original created works should be safe-for-work. However, if the content of your works is mature, please advise your audience of a maturity rating. There is a difference between Mature and Explicit content. Mature content refers certain content happening but does not go into details on it and left as incredible vague (and then, the two lovers made love). Whereas, explicit content, it is blatantly obvious and goes in extreme detail (and this is how the two lovers explore their bodies). You can write Mature Content, just not overly explicit on it.

In other words, you can post any written works that handle these subjects freely, as long it isn’t straight up smut (i.e. essentially porn). I think this gives more flexibility for writers to express their creativity of handling mature content and subject manner.

I have added all Forum Banners to the respective forums: Art Garden and its section, Creative Roleplay, BoogaVerse, Gamers Corner, Metroham, Anime Boulevard, Progress Journals and News and Information. I feel that these makes the forum unique, stunning and I think people like seeing cool graphic upon visiting a section, especially something that stands out.

I am in the process of making an original banner for Reality Vortex and BoogaVerse using characters in those roleplays. Don’t know when I will start on it, and I was thinking of making it a collaboration effort with other artists, but I don’t know.

In addition, I have added rules in Progress Journals and everything within Art Garden. Please check them out and if you have any advice or improvements that you need addressing for the rules, I’m all open for criticisms to update, change, add and removed.

Some will notice that the Imgur button on the side of the post box is no longer there. This is because the Imgur is now a button, represented with an “i”, along with the spoiler button next to it. You no longer have to write out the spoiler code to put things in spoilers.

I’ve updated all the emoticons as well to keep up with the modern looks. Feels refreshing I say, nevertheless.

As you notice, cleanup on the forum is finally complete. Aside from a couple, we won’t see any more deleted threads for a while.

The only things that need to be work on is small things that I can do over the weekend (making sure the dark theme is consistent with the light theme). Aside from that, we won’t see any major maintenance until the next update (hopefully with responsive addition). It was a heavy task, but I’m glad that I managed to complete all my work of the forum. Hopes you guys enjoy the small changes on the forum.

Added addition to the Art Garden Guidelines. If the art thread has been inactive for 3 months, it’ll be closed without question. If the returning members (if they ever return) wished for their thread to be reopened, they can ask any staff member for that task. We will keep the most active art threads will leaving the inactive ones buried.

Hi, the website will be undergoing an maintenance check on Tuesday. The progress will last around 2-4 hours if everything goes well. It'll include small scale updates on aesthetics for Light and Dark Core, along with few changes on the interface on the home page. If there are delays, I will post the dealys on the official BGC Twitter account.

Maintence is now finished, but will have another one tomorrow morning. You might noticed some things are off--that is normal. I'm doing some testing and will be quickly fix in a few minutes, the rest will be done tomorrow. Dark Core isn't "largely" affected yet.

There will be a short maintenance on May 7th for preparations and updated fixes.
  • Draw With Me is a upcoming event whereas artists will jump on for an hour, and draw together with your peers with a drawing program found by @"Ploep". We've tested it and looks and works great, so I'm hoping we can get other artists to join this fun event with us. I haven't decided on the theme, but the purpose is to inspired artists, and draws those who are fighting a good fight against this COVID pandemic. Details will come once Huey v Riley event on May 5 ends (I highly, highly encourage everyone to take a crack at it--get out of your comfort zone and try it!). This may or may not be a weekly thing (once a week) depending on the success.
  • Dark Core will be updated to match the Light Core theme. This is a easy process and can be done within an hour or two.
  • Some bug fixes here and there.

The update process is being moved to later on today. It was originally supposed to be done yesterday, but things came up. Draw with Me event details will also appear later on today. Sorry for the delay.

Hey everyone,

The website will undergo another maintenance work with some minor fixes, updates and more on Saturday. It will take place the entire day (which means, Draw with Me Session will be once again pushed on Sunday). The entire website will be rework with some minor fixes (including Dark Core), and overall clean up on threads and/or users. This also means that the forum will be closed on Saturday--so make sure whatever RP posts you want to put in, get it done before that!

Process is finished! Took a long (and stressful) time to do so, but it's finally done. I added some minor fixes and added post icons for the forum. Check it at your leisure. :D

The forum was down for a emergency maintenance. We will have another one again at midnight to add the finishing touches. The screenshot finale is extended to Friday Midnight PDT.

Hi ya'll. We have another maintenance on Friday, and it'll be a *long day* in preparation of fixing certain things (and HOPEFULLY revamped user profiles), along with adding several additions to the art section, and setting up the details for the 5th Anniversary of the website (Five Years!!). I'll post my progression here so I can remind myself to add all these new additions and the sort.

Hi everyone!

Ended the maintenance a little bit early. There are still a couple of things that need to be done, and probably needs a longer time to take care of (profile page, navigation bar, new logo). I’m hoping to finish this before the month ends or at least before September ends.
With that said, I made some fixes on the smaller side, added some awards and new competition. Furthermore, in celebration of the fifth anniversary, I’m pausing all requests and will do “Anniversary Avatars Requests”.

Every [active] user can request to draw an avatar for their profile (and elsewhere if you want, I don’t mind)! For example, here’s a really rough draft of an avatar for a profile:

lzkwO69.png

Just post those requests on my request page on what do you want in the avatar. Just note that it’s headshots only with minor backgrounds. It’ll be good practice on my part, and I hope to give you excellence as well.

Sounds fine to me! I can't wait to see all the other future updates and the ideas you have in store for the forum. Now, about those requests... I'll be the first one to give it a shot!

Yup! There are still a few things that needs to be done (and hopefully, the Mybb 1.9 will finally get release... big excited about it...!!!).

Today is the fifth anniversary of BGC, so I want to share with some stuff. The others will be coming in tomorrow night, so stay tuned for that!

More to come tomorrow. You can use it however you like!

Hello everyone! I've hired someone who revamped the profile pages, with both light and dark cores! He did an amazing job for doing such! Please check it out!!

Within 2 weeks, the forum will receive another refresher. If the forum looks weird for any reason (or things hadn't updated yet, don't worry, I'm currently rebuilding some stuff).

There will be a site-wide maintenance starting at 5 PM PDT. Considering the bulk of time dedicated to such, it will take most likely more than 12 hours to complete (give or take). If you are planning on posting artworks and/or RPGs, post it before then. [Accidentally posted this in the wrong thread. Whoops.]
