The Reality Vortex: The Black Rose

Brachi nodded at Vegetto's response.
"I'll have to ask Jize if she knows about someone like him back in our realm. I mean, my creators have dealt with Ginyu before; last thing I remember clearly is that he got his body switched with a Namekian frog..." She said.

"As if you have to worry about anything; you have about 14 lives crammed into one, so if a Kai like Zamasu would try something like that on you, they'd be overwhelmed by what makes up you." Dielec commented.

“Fill in? I practically work with that Zamasu guy!” Clark answered a part of Mooli’s question, but the way he phrased it may lead to some misunderstanding. “Hrm, both of us were working for Doctor Doom before the Great Teleportation several years ago.” He’d quickly clarified.

As piles of dishes were being clean at a rapid pace by the Kryptonian, he continues of what he knew about Zamasu. “Several of us had reservations why we work under Doom; my case was really… boredom and tired of being a hero.” His expression was somewhat dejected, but he quickly shook that off. “Zamasu… I was surprised that a guy like that would even work under him. He was just going on and on about having the ultimate body and mortals would face a god’s wrath. He was… quite a yapper, really. You know that Malugia guy? Think of that but somehow even worse.”

Clark did take notice of Mooli’s changed demeanor; an explicit contrast of how she acted earlier with everyone, especially towards Vegetto. “After that, I really didn’t think about that guy… but Vegetto did fill in about him during our discussions about our special one. If I remember correctly, this Zamasu practically wanted a challenge against Vegetto by any means necessary… and decimated a huge portion of his teammates. Kassava was nearly a victim of his rampage. He’s a bit of a sour spot for the history of… what was he called them… Time Patrol, I think. I hope… that satisfied your question?”

Outside the Restaurant

“Regardless, let’s just keep our guard up in case Spina, Black, Ginyu, Zamasu or whoever decides to go on the attack?” Vortex-Man narrowed his eyes as he searches for Spina. “I can see that he’s still in the city… he’s simply standing on top of a building towards the end of the city.”

Vegetto continued to eye Dielec and Brachi, keeping a small frown.

"I wouldn't be so confident if I were you. Whatever your past lives felt and remembered may be something you can feel...but fusion isn't like those Alter Beings or whatever Hart was. It's not adding up a bunch of people into one body; you are truly melding into one being."

He uncrossed his arms from his chest.

"The only difference is that what the new mixture of beings creates is your new body. My teacher taught us that the soul cannot thrive without harmony to that body...and body snatchers have to play by the same rules. When Zamasu stole mine, he found himself connected to a body that was restless and demanded a greater challenge than the one our universe offered. He did nothing to quell or satisfy that drive, and soon Zamasu began to lose his own mind in chasing that ambition because my body did not care for his plan."

The Potara fusion turned on his heel, resolute in moving forward after Vortex Man indicated Spina's where abouts but still glanced towards Brachi with narrowed eyes.

"So if there's something to overwhelm a new soul inhabiting your body, it won't be the lives that made you. It's your own instability...your own lack of harmony to your body..."

Vegetto trailed off in his thought, a bit of self awareness of his own projection in his statement before he narrowed his eyes and dismissed the thought. He then promptly shot up into the air in a white aura, taking to the skies and flying towards where he sensed Spina's signature without another word.

Cayde blinked and watched on, rubbing his chin.

"...huh, that's not something I've ever thought about. But then again...I'm not like the rest of you guys that are made up of multiple people and what not."

He glanced around, stifling a half chuckle.

"And if it's not too much trouble....can someone carry me? I also can't fly like the rest of you."

"Well, I'm the only multi-fusion out here, though compared to some other fusions I've heard of or experienced through my creators, I'm at least a bit more stable than that..." Brachi muttered, turning to Cayde, "I can carry you if you like."

Dielec nodded, while Bara remained silent, watching Vegetto leave and discreetly using her headtentacle to keep track of him, using it as a radar/antenna to scan for him.

Victor says " Chances are good that Zamasu worked for Doom because his goals and doom's aliened or Doom offered Zamasu something that he could not get by force. As far his distaste "Time Patrol" indicates that he may did something that forced their action. That is just by what I heard from your retelling." Victor moves the plates to one side and gets up

Victor says as he summons a flying carpet and gets on it "I can. I should note that there are some people that its ultimately useless to swap with. Most their skill and abilities will swap with them and/or that it takes time to master the body to point to be able to use them." He is offering a spot on the carpet.

Unsurprisingly, Vortex-Man thought about Hart after Vegetto’s commentary. His area was rather lacking due to little experience. Until now, Hart was the only person that had a body of actual many, as opposed to Brachi who’s entirely a new being altogether. He took some information from Clark that there’s discussion on whether Vegetto had a soul. But neither of them truly understands that kind of discussion since they have never been in that situation.

However, that did bring up a question for the Kryptonian. Without further delay, he took to the skies and head towards Spina’s whereabouts. Flying next to Vegetto, Vortex-Man spoke to him.

“You said the incompatibility between body and soul can lead to some distress.” Vortex-Man said. “Is that why Spina looks like that?” He pointed out the apparent features that were coming out of Spina’s body. “He didn’t look like that the last time I saw him… and I just assumed that was Saiyan biology since none of you guys really react to that. But since this talk of body snatchers… is that the cause?”

Cayde rubbed his chin at the commentary from Brachi and Victor, but chose to remain silent at the remarks. However, he glanced between Brachi and the flying carpet presented to carry the android after the two who had flown into the air, walking towards the carpet.

"As much as I love being dangled from the sky towards our objective...I've never had the chance to ride an actual flying carpet!"

He hopped on, nodding curtly to Victor in gratitude while gesturing to the others.

"Anyone else? All aboard!"

Vegetto perked his eyebrows at the sound of Vortex Man's voice, caught slightly by surprise that the other Kryptonian had caught up to him. He thought briefly for a moment at the question, but soon spoke with a neutral tone.

"I don't think so...the whole body and soul stuff is more of an inner thing. Spina seems like he isn't a different person or insane...just more aggressive and meaner."

He paused briefly.

"But I don't know as much about this as my teacher, Whis. He knew more about the harmony of the soul and body...about Ultra Instinct and all of that development. I just take what I can remember from him and try...so maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it could be what's bothering him...I don't know."

“Hmm, I see.” Vortex-Man was left feeling unsatisfied by Vegetto’s answer. Potara’s wavering feeling didn’t leave much confidence on whether Zamasu was behind this at all, and it still doesn’t explain the current look Spina had taken as of late. His only recourse was recalling his conservation with Hart regarding some mysterious entity that even he cast doubts on. Perhaps Zamasu had learned something entirely different that not even Vegetto isn’t aware of? Or maybe Spina is just being meaner as the Potara says but what cause the change?

Regardless, what strikes the Kryptonian even more is that Vegetto even show some insight of worry about Spina. Prior to this, it wouldn’t be that unusual to assume Vegetto hated the man. Did this Mooli girl do something that changed Vegetto in a way? These were the thoughts that Vortex-Man had. “Listen… if things start going downhill—”

Vortex-Man felt a dark presence as both reached Spina’s location. The air around them was heavy, almost nauseating, and its source was coming from this older Saiyan. Straight away, Vortex-Man examined his appearance. The strange armor around shoulders and chest was gone, but his scars were still notably present. Once Spina turned around after noticing the two, his left eye was completely black, with only a single white dot that acted as his pupil. “… No, he’s even worse now than he was at that tournament…”

Spina turned to both Vegetto and Vortex-Man. His eyes became dull, while furrowing his eyebrows. His face was filled with scorn and contempt. “What the hell do you want?”

Mooli listened intently while helping clear the dirty dishes away. She side-eyed Clark warily at the mention of being a subordinate to Doctor Doom-- the name alone carries plenty of history with it given what happened, but the way she looked at Clark so intensely until he explained his intentions was uncharacteristic of her jolly attitude. The tension lightened up after that, but she still looked uneasy about something. Mooli didn't answer him directly, nodding in agreement with Victor's assessment of the situation.

"Yeah, sounds about right. Zamasu knew he wouldn't get what he wanted directly so he went through people close to Vegetto first to force his hand. This is Veg' we're talking about; he wouldn't waste time on anyone he thinks is beneath him. If he doesn't acknowledge you as an opponent, you may as well not exist at all. That's the most audacious thing a mortal could do in eyes like Zamasu's. And my friends paid the price." Mooli crossed her arms, frowning. "If your Zamasu's after Vegetto, he might pull even dirtier tricks now that the Breakers are back in the picture."
============================
"Instability, huh?" Bernkastel said nothing in relation to their current discussion and began to float towards Spina's location keeping to herself. In the general sense, it certainly would explain a lot of changes, but Bern was at a total loss when she tried to think of it as a catalyst. Spina actually seemed pretty normal when she first met him; almost plainly so since she never paid him much attention at the beginning. He started acting strange when Gogeta was brainwashed by whats-his-name, but he was still pretty normal even then. Guardian appeared to her not long after Spina died and came back to life, but Bernkastel came up emptyhanded simply retracing their steps. Without a why, everything else was useless noise. The only way would have to be just talking to Spina...

"You didn't come back for dinner, so we decided to go look for you. Mind if I sit next to you?"

Even though she asked to be polite, Bern came forward and sat on the ledge next to Spina anyway, hugging her knees to her chest. "... I like this view, but this spot is quite far for just a short walk around the block."

((Just to save some energy for everyone, I'll go ahead and commandeer a little action here by making the characters that were going to go see Spina arrive with Bernkastel. That way. no one has to waste energy typing out the boring mechanics of flying from point A to point B lol))

Landing on the building's rooftop with Vortex Man, Vegetto's eyes instantly gravitated to the immense source of ominous pressure. A normal person would've immediately recoiled in fear at the transformed eye glaring the pair down, but Vegetto stood less in fear, but an intense instinct of self defense. He tensed immediately at the sheer glare from the older Saiyan, but did not speak as Bernkastel arrived shortly after with the others in tow.

Vegetto perked his eyebrow, watching on silently while the witch spoke and sat down at the edge of skyscraper to speak with Spina. He narrowed his eyes, an urge to speak out due to his immense distrust of the witch, but ultimately held back once again. He crossed his arms, a small scowl on his expression in waiting to see how the two would converse, and if the others would jump in to follow Bernkastel's lead in.

Cayde had jovial chuckled to himself while riding the flying magical carpet, but as the pressure from Spina became apparent, the android had sobered up into a serious stare. He blinked once, stepping off the carpet at Spina's appearance, taken aback with a quiet "Woah". He stood back with Vortex Man and Vegetto, along with any others that choose to avoid interacting directly with Spina initially.
