(Sorry for the wait, Grey-Senpai!)

Imani screamed when the light shined too bright for her to handle. Her small body dropped to the floor, covering her watery eyes. It was hard to tell if she was crying or if the light made her eyes water. She desperately tried to look for Spider-Man but the water in her eye blurred everything she saw. Her entire face was full of pure panic and fear.

Spider-Man... someone... anyone, help me..! I don't want... to die! Not like this..!

Imani was crawling on the ground, mostly in circles, trying to feel for anyone she can grab on to. Thanks to the blindness, she did not see any of the spiders inching their way towards her. All she could hear were her own whimpers of fear.

Ash pulled up his fists as Spider-Man suddenly came running at him.

"Come on, let's dance!" Ash yelled, throwing out a punch which Spidey ducked under, getting a punch into Ash's gut. Ash stumbled backwards from the hit by a super human, coughing up blood. Spidey followed this up with an attempted kick to the face, only for Ash to catch it and squeeze the hero's ankle with his gauntlet, which was followed by the sound of electronic sparks and hisses across his suit.

"Let's see you try fighting me without-" Ash was saying, before Spidey suddenly raised his arm on the side of the caught foot, double tapped his wrist, and shoot webfluid out of his fore arm right onto Ash's mouth, followed by yanking downwards. Ash was suddenly slammed down onto the floor, dazed for a moment from his entire body colliding with force onto solid flooring. Despite him holding Spider-Man's ankle, the hero just remained balanced on the other foot as Ash dragged that foot back to the ground.

"Nice try, but sadly too slow. Might've had a better chance if I wasn't playing rough today." Spidey stated, before suddenly bringing his leg downwards, kicking the doctor, and forcing him to let go. With his ankle now freed, Spidey proceeded to web Ash's feet to the ground and begin to walk away, glancing back to Principal Walker's chair.

"The explosion dazed everyone else yet he... He's not looking too good. God, Ash, what did you do?" Spidey asked aloud as he walked towards the shattered window, stepping over multiple cringing and screaming students.

"Armor. I have the paramedics on the way. Look after the injured students, and Doc Gunpowder here." Spider-Man ordered to an unknown individual.

"You're leaving a bunch of injured individuals behind!?" Said the same female voice talking to Old Man Walker earlier, very irate at the hero's leaving.

"You're here and none of them have any open wounds. Probably bruising that'll need a hospital visit for. I'm going after that piece of technology. We both know who made it, and how dangerous it is out on the streets." Spider-Man stated before jumping out the window.

"Spider-Man!" The voice shouted.

"I'm not doing so hot. I think I might've bruised something in my fall." Draven replied to Jordyn. "Hey, kid, you okay?" He asked to the younger student crawling in circles. He glanced back up to see the spiders had descended further down their webs, and were twitching, snapping at each other, and shaking.

"Aw, guts." Was all he said before they dropped down, landing on the three's hands. On Draven and Imani, two spiders with a hourglass pattern on their backs had dropped onto them. On Jodryn, a brown spider with green fur had dropped down. And then, all three of them bit at once, attacking the closest things they could as they were dying, trying to respond to a threat that had already killed them, and as quickly as it had come, had also vanished. Draven yipped in pain as the spider bit through his glove, pain messing with his already weakened state. Draven, Imani, and Jordyn would all receive a flash of pain from the bite. Jodryn however, would also feel intense drowsiness and the urge to sleep.

There was the sound of metallic boots, walking over to the three. A figure, clad in a black spandex body suit with silver metallic plating over their torso, head, arms, and feet appeared in front of the three.

"How are you three hurt? What can I do?" She asked. The same voice that was asking Principal Walker earlier. Same voice that Spider-Man just ordered to look after the students. The one he referred to solely as "Armor."

"Ow!" Imani pulled her hand close to her body, failing to notice the spider bite. The bright light was still bothering her, despite it being done and over with. With watery eyes, Imani was still helpless, unable to see. She laid on the floor, hugging her knees from the throbbing pain she was in thanks to the spider bite and the overall situation going on.

I thought this was going to be a good day... What is going on? Why now? Why to me..?

Imani perked her head up when she overheard the new voice. Her vision was still blurry so she couldn't see the woman.

"W-What just happened? Where's Mr. S-Spider-Man?"

Before Jordyn could further respond in a less-than-collected demeanor, she let out a yelp from the sudden pain in her hand. She had felt the tickling sensation of what she knew was an insect. Under any other circumstance, she probably would have screamed at the top of her lungs seeing a freaky spider like the one that just bit down on her. Out of reflex, she slammed her other hand down on the spider but it was too late seeing as its venom was already in her circulatory system. She thought it was a swift reaction, but it was fairly delayed; to Jordyn, it felt like everything around her was starting to slow down.

"Doezzzz this look dangerousss?" She yawned, holding her bitten hand out to Armor while looking at the other two with a completely different disposition than before. "Izzz anybody else feeeeeling.... sleepy?" Before she knew it, Jordyn could barely keep her eyes open, and she immediately went from her panicked, slumped over position on the floor to falling on it face-down with an eerily serene look on her face. "Weird...."

Armor got on her knees, looking over the three from behind a helmet mask. She looked at Draven on the ground, staring upwards at the silver figure in agitation, Imani crawling and whimpering in response to her voice, and Jordyn holding out a bitten hand to her.

"Spider-Man is-" Was all Armor got out before Jordyn grabbed her attention in a figurative manner, the female grabbing Jordyn's hand and looking over the bite.

"Jordyn... Jordyn, stay with me." Draven called out. "Jordyn, don't go to sleep. Please." He begged to his classmate, desperation filling his grey eyes as he saw her serene expression as she flopped over. His breathing was rapid, trying to drag himself by the legs forward. The doors suddenly opened, paramedics entering the room, the sound of their sirens curiously absent. Dressed in red and white uniforms they fanned in, starting to check over and look on the students. Armor stood up and glanced to Principle / Old Man Walker.

"Please, here, Mr. Walker needs stabilized." Armor pleaded, motioning to the old man clad in black, still in the same chair. She motioned for another pair of paramedics to come over and investigate Jordyn. "She had some sort of insect bite her, she's drowsy." Armor stated. The paramedics that went over to Walker gave a loud gasp and looked to each other, and very carefully started to bandage his neck. The paramedics that went to Jordyn looked over the spider bite.

"Hm... Some sort of common spider bite, but the body's agitated by the energy blast, it's reacting very adversely. We need to make sure her brain doesn't fall unconscious as a form of shutting down." One stated to the other. Armor walked away, starting to find any of the seriously injured students and load them onto stretchers to be carried out, while getting the rest of the students to stand up and start to walk.

"We need everyone to get downstairs and into the waiting ambulances to be checked over at the hospital, we're not taking any chances with non-visible injuries." Some teacher announced into the room. Draven was helped onto his feet by Armor, and could only watch with anxiety as Jordyn was loaded onto a stretcher.

"C'mon Jordyn, it's only the first day..." The junior muttered to himself. Now that he was on his feet, Armor turned to see Imani still on the ground.

"Imani. Imani, listen to the sound of my voice." She asked, putting her hands around one of Imani's. "I realize your vision is too blurry to see. But I'm going to walk you out of here and into the hands of medical professionals to make sure you're okay. Just let me get you off the ground, please."

(The following can be read for story purposes but is being experienced from Jordyn's point of view.)
It felt like a thousand tiny splinters in the forehead. Incredible, agonizing pain. That was right before every nerve in Jordyn's body flared up at maximum intensity, creating a burst of pain so powerful it knocked her out instantly, a mind-shattering level of torture. Fragments of conscious thought split apart and were slowly snuffed out, followed by unconscious feelings operating. It was like experiencing death.

Slowly, everything was brought back together. Fragments of thought stitched back together in patchwork streams, thoughts switching subjects at random and disjointed intervals, everything stiff and uncomfortable. And then, she could see.

A massive spider, sitting upon a web, it's coloration and structure reminiscent of the common house spider. With eight eyes it gazed upon Jordyn standing in front of it.

"Don't sleep yet, little girl. My bite only bring death to those whose lives bring suffering." It stated in a human voice that was accompanied by arachnid chittering, somehow producing both. "But I have a greater torment for you. I bestow the curse of power onto your frail form."

And a moment later, Jordyn was on a medical stretcher in an elevator being carried out of the building towards an ambulance.

"I... I can't see anything..!" Imani said, nearly out of breath.

Imani slowly lifted herself to her feet, grabbing Armor's hand tightly. When she attempted to rub her tears away, her vision progressively got worse and worse until she was barely able to distinguish anything within arm's length of her. The hand with the spider bite continued to pain her, making her release Armor's hand in order to grip her throbbing wrist. She kept close to Armor, hearing her voice as best she could.

"W-Why is this happening..? My hand hurts... I can't see..."

Jordyn let out a loud gasp as she snapped back into consciousness, with a sheen of feverish sweat covering her body due to the sheer amount of pain she endured under what could've been a mere fraction of a second, but felt like far longer. She jerked her head around in an attempt to regain her surroundings before wincing and putting a hand on her head.

"Ow... Wh-what happened? I wuzz upstairs just now! Where'z Spider-Man?" Jordyn stammered, nervous upon realizing she was being carried away from the school.

"There, was an accident. With the device demonstration. Spider-Man filled me in when I got here." Armor replied to Imani, walking at a slower pace when the girl pulled her hand back, and placing her feet down with more force to get the metallic boot steps to act as a guide. "It detonated some sort of energy pulse as a wave of light, sort of like a battery exploding. I'm not sure of the details but it-" she stopped for a moment, looking away from Imani and upwards. "It's fine. Everything's fine. We just need to get you to the hospital. Elevator's this way." She added, starting to move again. "If you feel unsteady stop moving and say something, I'll catch you!"

"Just stay calm Jordyn, not too much to be alarmed about." Said an EMT that was at Jordyn's side, carrying her on a stretcher towards an opened ambulance. "You fell unconscious for a bit, and we didn't have the chance to try and wake you up before we got to the ambulance. But it's vitally important that you stay awake, okay? Just don't fall back asleep." They added. Meanwhile, Jordyn could clearly see it as she was being carried away, but Spider-Man was sitting on the side of the building, watching students being escorted out towards the ambulances, before crawling back inside to the lab where the demonstration occurred.

Imani nodded to Armor, carefully following the sound of her voice as she guided the blind girl to where they needed to go. She held her hands out, being wary about the possible things around her. She worried for the other students that were with her, Jordyn and Draven, hoping that they were okay as well. She tried her best to remain calm during such a bad situation, but it was a lot of pressure for a young person like her to handle.

"I-I'm not going to die... right?"

At the mention of sleep, Jordyn remembered the strange vision she had during her time of unconsciousness. Though to her, it was a fever-dream induced by either the accident or the weird spider that bit her. It was apparently a common spider bite, but she wondered if having a splitting headache that felt like death was part of an allergic reaction. Either way, she kept quiet about it because for all she knew, she was just experiencing effects from the blast of the device.

"I-I think I'm good on napping for a while, thanks." Watching Spider-Man slip back into the building, it made her wonder if her classmates were okay; if Imani and Draven were okay. She feared for them because they were directly in front of the device while she at least had Petronov between herself and the machine. Closing her eyes briefly, she sighed. "Just my luck... but at least I'll get out of working today. Is the Old Man alright?" Jordyn thought it would be easier to stay awake if she simply continued conversations.
