Crossroads Town

"Quite a far way from here, then. The lands here are lawless." Marietta said, showing Jacen the bags of blood with different blood types on their labels so he could select the proper one. "Unlike Paradice. They've got powerful mages who can maintain order... We have no such luxury. Not since the great wars irreversibly ravaged these lands. All we have are each other, and even so, Crossroads Town might be the only community this cohesive for miles."

"That's why I wasn't too shocked by the idea of you being attacked while traveling through the lands. You'll be much safer here, I can guarantee it." She smiled warmly. "Our leader and his guard dogs have kept us safe many times. But I still would advise against any nighttime travel. That's when the troublemakers running amok are at their worst."

Jacen tapped a blood bag, before reclining his head back.

"Should known a lot about mages... They're, unusual." Sylvanas replied in thought. "And we'll try to avoid night." She added lying.

"I wonder how we would fare against mages..." Marietta muttered, starting up the transfusion and quickly began soaking a white handkerchief with the water from the cactus. She lightly passed the fabric over Jacen's cuts after giving them a good rinse with clean water. Strangely, despite being mere water from the cacti, the pain that emanated from his wounds would quickly diminish. "I s'pose neither of ye will be able to go on your own for the night while you recover. But with the cactus juice, you'll be back to speed by the mornin'."

"That... Would be..." Sylvanas replied before laying still, both of her eyes closing.

Jacen remained where he was, allowing the transfusion process to occur without hassle, not really reacting to his pain being diminished.

"Off to sleep already, eh? Let me get ye' both some water while I'm at it..." Marietta refilled a set of glasses with cold water and set them on the bedside should they choose to need anything later. "Need anything else before I leave ye' be for the night?"

One of the townspeople from before shouted to her through one of the open windows. "Angus didn't find anything suspicious, yet. We got 'em all keeping watch just in case."

"Thanks for th' heads up."

Jacen looked incensed at the "sleep" comment but still didn't say anything, taking a drink and just glaring at Marietta. He signaled no to needing anything before resting his head back and starting to fall asleep

(If there aren't any more things you wish to do for that day, you can assume that it's night or the morning or smth, since it's just your characters in here at the moment.)

Marietta closed up her clinic for the night and made ready for the loft in which she slept, locking her door with several clicking noises.

The rest of the town proceeded as normal, though with slight precautions at the sun set.

In the morning a stench of death had started to leak from the room, while inside Jacen was holding Sylvanas' decaying body, green energy moving from his hands and into specific points to start undoing the decomposition.

"Jiminy Christmas... what's that horrid smell? I hope it ain't the sewers outside actin' up again..." Marietta muttered under her breath as she exited the loft and made her way to the infirmary section of her clinic. She gently rapped her knuckles on the door. "Everythin' alright in there?" She called out, holding a handkerchief to her nose in order to block out the odor of rot. Come to think of it, she didn't quite catch their names previously, which made her feel a bit guilty.

"She died in her sleep. The spell keeping her reanimated corpse from dying again gave out due to my weakness, I'm just trying to keep it stabilized enough to prevent her soul from leaving to the after life... Again." Jacen called back. "I can, if you want me to destroy the source of the smell, I'll need you to leave a few crystals out in the sunlight for a bit." He added, twelve stunning blue gemstones rolling out from the door. Something that vagabonds shouldn't have, something traveller's don't often have.
