Reading the Curse-Killing arc of the Higurashi manga.
Having to cram so much information of a mystery horror novel into my head along with SO much more Umineko content that has yet to be read, with half of it being retconned in by Ryukishi in the 2nd/3rd phase of the story is a huge migraine of an undertaking.
All so I can write a self-indulgent fanfiction built into a theory that is fully fleshed out into a tangible story. The things I do for writing theories... but I think I'm still gonna take some liberties anyway because this shit is too hard and sometimes "canon" makes exploring these theories much less interesting
