I'm not quite sure. It would need to depend on whose hands are involved since the only reason Ghost in the Shell turned out as not-so-terrible as it had was because the people involved actually cared about what they were making.
I initially typed out something much more well thought out, but i accidentally deleted it so here's the best I can do.
I think part of the problem is this negative stereotype surrounding live action adaptions nowadays thanks to films like dragon ball and avatar. Its ironic though, since this...
Thanks for taking an interest, I don't do podcasts very often. Stand alone complex is one of my favorite anime series, I hope you end up liking it, loopypanda.
Also, just to clarify, this podcast was made b4 the movie came out, so there's no spoilers for the live action film.
Abridgelion, chrstmascarnage, RogerSmith2004, and I participated in a podcast I had uploaded recently. The general topic is live action anime films. Specifically Ghost in the Shell and its trailer.
I went and recorded this the week b4 the movie came out, so it's about a month or so overdue, I...

Yeah, but they lost alot of their old licenses, so it'll be a while before they really get back into motion. The most recent manga job they got on their hands so far is for a manga of Disney's Alice and Wonderland.
From my understanding, Tokyopop in america essentially went into a sort of coma in 2011 after losing so many of their licenses and their 33% majority customer (Borders bookstores, who went bankrupted and owed Tokyopop a lot of money).
They recently resurfaced and are trying to rebuild...
My newest review (or rather digest-review) is currently being featured on Tokyopop's youtube channel. (Tokyopop was a major manga distributor for Americans back in the days of Borders and the early 2000's)
This video is on a classic anime called Angel's Egg.
Be sure to check it out! Hope you...
*SPOILERS*
I love the fact you brought up dues ex machina. Its a point I love to bring up around friends, but is not a smart move to bring up around more dedicated fans (their reasoning is that dues ex machina has always existed in star wars through the force).
But...lets examine this for a...
