So some how these dudes got it in there heads that they OWN the concept of "Reactions".
This feels worse than when sony tried to trademark let's plays. The reaction the internet had towards this led to the creation of a trend called #UnSubTheFineBros. Ever since the announcement they have last at least 10,000 subs and still counting: https://akshatmittal.com/youtube-realtime/#!/thefinebros

Well then, that sounds awfully dreadful. So people who have their own "reaction" videos concept should be not supported because they claimed it's "ripping someone else's format"? Well, they're going to have a hard time doing that then

I was just reading up on this controversy yesterday.

Given that the Fine Bros. Has made a business out of reacting to videos you could pretty much just look up on your own.

I don't like the idea much at all, and I generally dislike "reaction" based channels because much of the big reaction channels are just them watching the whole video and not saying much until after so it's just you watching them watch a video. And I hate reaction channels since most of the time they don't really bring new thought or content to the table. It tends to just be them saying whether or not they liked it rather than a few clips here and there as they delve into a full on argument or analysis of the video in question.

They just want to really milk the concept they have (and it's not like they invented react shows either) so they can get more money. Sure it promotes small channels but that greatly depends on the content that contracted person brings. I can understand people stealing the concept of their show directly, but they came off as if they owned the whole concet of reacting to things in general.

I'm not sure how "Reactionists" came to even be a thing tbh

EDIT: I knew IHateEverything would make a video abt this since he made 2 videos covering the Reaction channels thing

Like seriously, no fucking shit it isn't going to last long.

Even if what they were trying to do was genuine, have they already listen to their own words? Reactionary content have been a thing for decades before Fine Bros even came to stage; to monopolized and encourage people to disapproved people of "copying" their style is nothing short of ego. Hopefully they and future developers learn from this.

'found out about the whole reaction thing from this video:

I don't like the idea of trademarking terms that have been around since forever - it's like trademarking "Pepper" when in actuality there are people and pets that share this name.

Exactly! Even more damning I read the FAQ they made regarding React world. Those terms were BEYOND shady. In the original vid they talked about giving you tools and promotion right?
All sorts of MCs promise tools but never give jack diddly sh*t. No where on the FAQ do they talk about what tools they give you and how to use them.
Also boosting promotion? IMPOSSIBLE! That is something that cannot beyond done by a mere youtube channel. You want promotion? Get down on your knees and starting blowing that Jimmy Fallon Ellen Degener D-do. Those dudes pay up huge sums for promotion.
